The 16th annual Vancouver Farmers Markets Tomato Festival is happening this weekend, with restaurant showcases, recipes, canning demonstrations, and of course some delicious tastings.

When:Saturday, August 26, 2017 9:00am to 2:00pm
Where: Trout Lake Farmers Market, North Parking Lot, John Hendry Park

When: Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Where: Kitsilano Farmers Market, Kits Community Centre, 10th & Larch

Saturday’s Trout Lake Market and Sunday’s Kitsilano Market will feature signature recipes from local chefs and restaurants such as Vij’s, Café Medina, Sage Bistro, Orto Artisan Pasta, Rocky Mountain Flatbread & Belgard Kitchen, tastings of over 150 different varieties of tomatoes, canning demonstrations and prizes worth up to $200 from Wells Can Company.

Ugly Tomato Contest

Take a picture of the weirdest, most imperfect and obscure tomato that you find at the Trout Lake, West End, Riley Park, Kitsilano, Mt Pleasant, Main St Station or Downtown Farmers Markets, tag it #inglorioustomato and you could win money to spend at Vancouver Farmers Markets.
