Comments 2 by Rebecca Bollwitt

The BMO Vancouver Marathon has reached total capacity in its Marathon, Half Marathon, and 8km races and a kids run on Sunday, May 1st. More than 16,500 runners, from over 60 countries, have registered and that means it will be a busy weekend on the roads.

“This is a record-setting year. We will have the greatest number of participants in our history, which is 45 years long,” says Charlene Krepiakevich, Executive Director of the Vancouver International Marathon Society, organizers of the event held annually on the first weekend of May. “While the Marathon remains our marquee event, demand for the 8KM and Half Marathon has exceeded expectations.”

I don’t understand why you are apparently unable to give specifics on road closures. The map can’t be enlarge to see which streets are closed so citizens of Vancouver can get out of parking garages and carry on with their lives. At least those not consumed with a race.

    Hi Burt,

Here is the PDF that I link to in the post:

It has all of the road closures listed. Unfortunately it’s so large I can’t convert to text for my site but you can download and view, reference, print this copy.
