The weather is always a hot topic in Vancouver, from rainbows and flash hail storms to general comments on the sunshine or the rain. It’s been a gorgeous week of sunshine in Vancouver and leading up to the long weekend, I think that’s something that locals can definitely get used to.

    Ahhhhh…. anywhere can be a good one, but if I have to pick just one, I love it in Kits, passing the volleyball are, near the small parking lot. Beautiful view of the beach from there and usually less crowded.

    I love kits beach.
    Its the perfect place to sit, run, play, or catch some gnarly rays. The parking and pretension are a bit of a pain, but it definitely beats the bummin rain πŸ˜‰

    My favorite place to soak up some rays in Vancouver is just west of Sunset Beach at the south end of Nicola St. downtown. I think the small grassy hill there offers the best views of Vancouver in the summer.

    Jericho Beach – well, Locarno really, just west of the jetty and the sailing club. Perfect sandy beach for toddlers to play with buckets and spades and paddle in the water while adults sit and relax, and plenty of shade nearby in the grassy park. And the views aren’t too bad either…

    Every year we try and get piece of grass in the same spot at the Vancouver Folk Fest. We lay out a blanket between to stages and I spend most of the day soaking up the sun and tunes. That’s is my favourite. For the rest of the summer it is by the water teaching my son (and myself) to fish.

    UBC! during the summer time, UBC is best place to soak up the sun! OF course, sunscreen and hat and sunglasses are MUST while staying outside for long period of time πŸ™‚ The green trees waving in a row when the cool breeze blow the leaves back and forth.. and yet the warmth of sunlight keeps you warm πŸ™‚ It is best place to soak up the sun !!!!! Also, most of students are away on summer vacation so the quietness and peaceful scenery is perfect way to enjoy the summer weather in Vancouver ! Why is summer only 2-3 months in Vancouver :(:(:(

    Let’s face it, when the weather is like this, ANY place in the lower mainland is a GREAT place to soak up the sun! We live in fantastically scenic corner of the world. I do enjoy chillin’ in my own backyard though. BBQ, chilled beverages & zero gravity chairs. Perfect.
