Playland is opening for 2012 this weekend so a look through the City of Vancouver Archives to find old amusement park photos seemed in order.

    Thanks for the images. I have fond memories of the Playland of the 70s – Things that I remember that are now gone include –

    – The chairlift that went across the entire site, from playland to the PNE, east to west
    – The big wide yellow slide, that you slid down on burlap sacks
    – The big pole with a bright neon sign on top that just said “EAT” (or maybe it said “FOOD”)
