BC Travel Tuesday: Evolution Whistler Creekside
BC Travel Tuesday, with a Whistler spin, continues this week as I partner with backyardbc.com to help British Columbians get out and explore their home province.
backyardbc is a new travel website designed specifically for residents of British Columbia. Essentially a “be a tourist in your own backyard” program, participating hotels & resorts offer residents of BC exclusive rates and specials, designed to motivate BCers to travel more within the Province. Close to restaurants, the slopes, and the famous Southside Diner, there’s no shortage of things to do. Staying in and enjoying the snow-flanked hot tubs at your hotel is also a fine way to spend a chilly evening.

What an amazing idea, get BC residents out in their own province. So many of us have no clue what BC has to offer. There’s a reason the word “beautiful” is on the licence plates (well the non-olympic ones anyway).
I’m embarrassed to say, it’s been a few years since I’ve been up to Whistler. I must change that.

I used @backyardbc to book a weekend at Creekside in Sept of 2011. We stayed at the Lodging Ovation’s hotel – not Evolution, but the sister one there…the name escapes me at the moment! Excellent hotel & Creekside is such a relaxed, low-key option to choose, instead of Whistler Village. I’d love to stay there again.

What a great way to promote BC residents to vacation in BC.
I have always wondered about Creekside; it is closer to the Callaghan Valley and Olympic Winter Park where we love to cross country ski and “discovered biaathlon” just a week before Christmas!
Whistler Creekside is the best! Quiet and all the comforts of home with the excitement of Whistler only a couple of minutes away. And great restaurants too!

Whistler is so much fun!
I love love love Whistler it is one of the best mountains to ski at, especially because the weather conditions are almost always great! The green trails are so easy for new skiers and snowboarders and the blue runs offer a bit more of a challenge. Since it is a 2 hour drive for most, staying there overnight is the best way to enjoy your visit!
I have fond memories as a teenager taking the big greyhound bus up for school trips!
