The Nutcracker Ballet in Vancouver
Ballet BC presents the return of Alberta Ballet’s The Nutcracker this holiday season at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

This classic Christmas tale will have sugarplum fairies dancing around an opulent set depicting 30th century Imperial Russia. Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable musical score will be played live by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
Ballet BC presents the Alberta Ballet’s The Nutcracker from December 28 until December 31, 2011. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday performances at 7:30pm with two early shows on Friday and Saturday at 2:00pm.
Tickets are currently available online starting at $30. The timing makes it a great gift this season. If you would like to win your way in, I also have two tickets up for grabs. Here’s how you can enter to win:

I took my daughter to the Nutcracker when she was four. I bought her a big furry coat. She felt special. This is one of my fondest memories. She is 15 and asked me if we could go again. The music, the dance, the atmosphere is truly magical

Been waiting to take my son, who has been begging to go We have watched on TV but I have never been able to take him to the live performance and would love nothing more than to escort my handsome 15 year old son to watch The Nutcracker! He first fell in love with Ballet thanks to the TV show Toy Castle performed by many members of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
My daughter and I have gone every year but one since she was five (she’s now 14) and even got to dance in it last year with the Moscow ballet. Haven’t got any tickets yet this year, slipped my mind, would be awesome to win!

When I was little, my grandma used to take me to local productions of the Nutcracker. I loved it so much that I took ballet lessons for many years. My daughter has now been taking lessons for 6 years, and I would love to take her to see this. I know it will be a magical experience for her!!

My parents took my brother and I to The NutCracker 40 years ago in Toronto, when I was about 10. At dinner my father said he had “tickets” and we were so excited thinking it would be for the Maple Leafs/Canadians hockey game. We were crestfallen to find out it was for the ballet. To top it off, we ran into my French Teacher at the theatre, and she told the class about meeting me there the next day. I was upset with my parents for a long time, but now they are gone and I would tell other parents not to be afraid to take their boys to the ballet (but not on a hockey night).
The Nutcracker is truly a classic. I remember this from when I was a kid!

I remember going each year when I was a little kid with my mom and sisters!
Nutcracker my 11 year old son and I always see during the holidays. We get all dressed up and see it together and is a very special time for us. It’s our holiday tradition for the last 3 years now. Very excited to see them again this year. A true classic!
