BC Bike Race 2011 & Adera’s seven35
byThe BC Bike Race July 2nd – July 9th is a 7-day cycling adventure that will take riders from the North Shore, to Vancouver Island, down the Sunshine Coast and up to Whistler. From ferry crossings to mountain passes, cyclists will go through places like Nanaimo, Cumberland, Powell River, and Squamish on their daily rides.
As a gold sponsor of the event, the seven35 development in North Vancouver by Adera has offered up a prize pack for one of my readers. seven35 is the first multi-family LEED for Homes platinum development in Canada and was certified BuiltGreen Gold. This green building and double-certified sustainability “first” in Canada.
Aside from being built green, the homes feature everything from a bicycle washing station, motion-sensor light switches and water-efficient irrigation. Featuring native plant species and numerous water features, they’re also located along the entrance to the Trans Canada Trail, and nearby Mosquito Creek.
The seven35 presentation centre is located at 735-15th Street West, North Vancouver. You can find out more about Adera’s developments by following them on Facebook on Twitter.
The prize pack offered up by seven35 includes a gift card for The District (value $100) in Lonsdale and a Helly Hansen rain jacket from the BC Bike Race (value $120).
To enter to win the gift card and the jacket I’d like to know what you love about the North Shore. From Grouse Mountain’s views to gelato at the Quay, events like the BC Bike Race, or kayaking in Deep Cove. You can also enter to win by posting the following on Twitter:
I will draw a winner at random from all valid comment entries on June 1st at 12:00pm.
Update The winner is Aimee!

I love the Lonsdale area, the great trails and the gorgeous North Shore mountains!
Where else can you get great shopping, gorgeous beaches and spectacular mountains all in one spot? The North Shore is awesome 🙂
I love Lynn Canyon and the suspension bridge. I love the variety of trails around the northshore that include Cypress, Grouse, Seymour, Deep Cove and more.
I love to enjoy a coffee & a ham/cheese croisant from Thomas Haas while watching for seals at the dog park nearby. (just off Fell Ave)
Coffee and pastries with my family at Moja Coffee on the weekend and then shopping at Park Royal.
Oh, and trails, beaches, mountains, etc. 🙂
I really like Lynn Valley.
I love Thomas Haas!
Kayaking and Honey’s donuts in Deep Cove!!!
My favourite thing about the North Shore is snowshoeing on Seymour Mountain.
Just checked out The District menu & love the food+beer offerings especially the creme brulee cheesecake and Thomas Haas chocolate souffle – yum! One of my favourite spots in N.V. is the Maplewood Farm!
Grouse Mountain!
I love the parks – all of them. I can be in the most beautiful forest within minutes from my front door! WOW
Beautiful views
I love that the North Shore has choices, like Seymour, Grouse and Cypress mountains to choose from. Fun in the summer sun for outings or wintertime sports in the snow!
I love hiking the Grouse Grind and coming down on the skyride, snowshoeing up to the top of Cypress, beers on the patio at Seymours after a day in the forest, but mostly I love riding the trails. I cut my mountain biking teeth on the Shore and still love nothing more than a day spent shuttling or doing some XC on Seymour or riding up and down Fromme. I *love* mountain biking and I *love* the Shore.
I love the local mountains, especially Seymour!
Grouse Mountain! The grouse grinde is painful but the view from up top is worth every ache!
Best of the North Shore: a paddle up Indian Arm in the winter and a cycle through Seymour Demonstration in the summer.
I like the view in North Shore.
So much to love! The views, the mountains, the trails, Deep Cove! Summer/Winter – it doesn’t matter, it’s beautiful all year.
Lynn Valley
Love Lonsdale Quay, the mountain views, Lynn Canyon, and the moat that seperates us from DowntownVanCity!

I love the views from Grouse Mountain!
Even after moving 23 years ago, when I go over the Second Narrows to go visit, it still feels like I’m going home. 🙂 I visit when I can, but it’s never enough.
Deep Cove!
Lynn Canyon & Lonsdale Quay & Ambleside Park
Edgemont Village and my family-in-law!
I love the view of downtown from Lonsdale Quay.
The incredible views.
Grouse Mountain!!
Harmony Doughnut and Deli — the BEST doughnuts in the lower mainland 🙂 .
I’d like to move to the Lonsdale area if I can. It’s got a great community feel, it is convenient to get downtown by seabus, and you’re close the local mountains for hiking or winter sports.
Deep Cove.
Deep cove is a great place to watch shooting stars!
Grouse Mountain and Maplewood Farms are great family activities located on the north shore. Also gotta love carribean days and the seabus rides plus lusso baby,sj foods & the kingston grill.Love it!
I live on the North Shore so obviously I love it.
I love the scenery and hiking trails in the North Shore.
I would love to win this package!
The Grouse Grind is awesome
My favorite part of the North Shore has to be kayaking in Deep Cove, followed by a huge donut from Honey’s.
There’s a little hike up Quarry Rock in Deep Cove I love, and then ice cream after.
I love the running trails, from the Lynn Canyon loops to the Baden Powell trail, to the technical routes on My Seymour. There’s a huge variety, enough for many hours without backtracking.
I love the Grouse Grind! I hope it opens soon!
Scotch shopping in Edgemont Village.
Love Deep Cove and doing the Grouse Grind
Hiking up to Quarry Rock in Deep Cove and stopping for one of the most delicious donuts you will ever try at Honey Doughnuts.
I love taking a walk in the Lonsdale area on a nice day. The view is beautiful.
My first ride was down the Whistler Trails and it was amazing. Not only did I get to see such great views from the wild life side of natures paths, but I also got to ride on some of the great trails ever built. Go Green! 🙂
It has great shopping, fabulous beaches and spectacular mountains! What’s not to like?
Love the mountains! Especially Grouse, as it is super transit accessible.
lonsdale quay is a nice little area
The one thing I love about the North Shore is Lynn Valley. From hiking to Norvan Falls or climbing Lynn Peak, I have always loved exploring that area.
I like walking along the Ambleside seaside trail.
