byThe Vancouver theatre scene has always been alive and kicking however this spring and summer it seems it to have attracted a large variety of blockbuster productions.

April 29 – May 1, 2011 at the Centre for Performing Arts
Wicked
June 1 – June 26, 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Mamma Mia
August 16 – August 21, 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Hairspray
May 12 – June 10 at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage
I also want to include mention of the 25th anniversary of Ballet BC at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre April 14, 15 and 16, 2011 as well as Bard on the Beach and Theatre Under the Stars that will open up again in June and July.

My favourite is the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, which works out well as I want to watch Wicked there.

It really depends on the show, but I particularly love the Chan Centre’s Telus Studio theatre.

Stanley Theatre is my favorite – stadium seating, intimate, and a great neighbourhood to enjoy dinner before the show or a walk after!
The QE theatre has always been a favorite! Ive seen concerts, theatre productions and other events there. What a great venue!

Granville Island stages
QE Playhouse gets my vote.
There are so many! I have to list three of them: 1) Pacific Theatre, 2) Firehall Arts Centre, and 3) Stanley Theatre.
Granville Island Stage!
I like the Centre for Performing Arts for bigger productions. The Stanley has a great feel to it too. I remember seeing Fantasia there as a kid, before it became a show house!
My favourite though is the Granville Island Stage at the Arts Club Theater.I like it for the close intimacy factor!

I’ve only been to the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, so this would be a great opportunity to change that!
I am very happy that the Stanley Theatre on Granville was preserved. It is a terrific place to be transported to another world, the magic of theatre!

i recently saw a play at the theatre in woodwards in gastown and it was a lovely intimate venue.
Never been, would love to go!
The Cultch is great – we also like the QE and the Stanley
would love the see The Graduate as a play!

I love the Arts Club Theatre, but really all the theatres are fantastic. We are so lucky to not only have so many wonderful theatres but the talent in this city is incredible.

The main tent at Bard is stunning on a summer’s evening as the sun goes down. A love for theatre AND Vancity all in one venue!
Hard to decide. Stanley for some, Arts Club for others, The Cultch for edgy events, Bard for Shakespeare, Queen E for music, Playhouse….

Just saw Riverdance at the Queen E. Loved Riverdance and love the Queen E. My fav place to be!
so many great venues to choose from ! Any of the Arts Club venues – Stanley, The ARts Club and The Revue stage – all great to watch theater!
I do love the Stanley, some of my favourite local shows have been in that theatre. Fond memories!
The Metro Theatre =p with the winding staircase.
Currently we are performing the classic musical 42nd St.
It is a play that brings you back to old broadway and all the wonderful places that it can take you!

Vancouver East Cultural Centre is my favourite venue.
I ADORE the Granville Island Stage! Not a bad seat in the house; uniquely Vancouver views at intermission. Charmingly intimate!

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the Graduate at the Arts Club Theatre at Grandville Island. That is my favorite Theatre. Synchronisticaly, I just walked by it the other night.
Been too long since I have had the pleasure of a night of live theatre. WOW! Uber fun! What an awesome contest.

Gotta love any outdoor venue, Brad on the Beach has been a favorite of mine for years, I love picnicing in the park before the show!
I love the Stanley Theater, its a great venue for all productions.

Hardly anyone mentioned Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park, a yearly tradition in Vancouver for my family.For indoor venues, I love the Arts Club the most, but all live theatre is wonderful!! Would love to see the Graduate!!
