Through the Eye of the Raven, Western Canada’s largest mural, was unveiled last week on the side of the Orwell Hotel in the Downtown Eastside.

Through the Eye of the Raven features cultural elements from several First Nations as well as community landmarks such as the iconic red “W” of Woodward’s.

Located at 456 East Hasting, the Orwell Hotel has recently been renovated as a part of a BC Housing‘s initiative and is now home to this 7,600 square foot collaboration.

First Nations artists who contributed to the mural include: Jerry Whitehead, Richard Shorty, Haisla Collins, Sharifah Marsden, Richard Tetrault, Esther Rausenberg, Eric Parnell and Nicola Campbell.
