Free Frosters with ZipCar Downtown Today

Comments 2 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Zipcar Zip Zip!The ZipCar program will be stationed at 200 Granville Street today handing out free Frosters (Mac’s brand Slurpees) today.

John and I have been ZipCar members since 2008 when they sponsored my membership that year for National Digital Media Day. We then used the service about once a week after that for meetings or getting out to Surrey. You get gas included, 200kms for your trip, and most cars start at $6.30 an hour.

They have dozens of ZipCars located across Vancouver (including hybrids) and one of the selling points for me is that you can use your ZipCard to book cars in other cities across North America as well. We even used a ZipCar pickup truck to move Keira into her new apartment last year.

You can stop on by their setup today to learn more and scoop up a free Froster between 11:00am until 3:00pm.

I use Zip car as well but I don’t think the $6.30/hr is usual. That would be grand if it was true though! I find that most cars are about $8 ish an hour..all the way up to $13, with an increased hourly price on weekends.
I live downtown and the cars available in my area are $8.78 an hour. I wish that there were some better choices for car locations in my area.

You’re right, the $6.30 is the starting point. I found the ones I used most often were about $8 as well. I just did a search for downtown Vancouver and $7 for a Nissan Versa is the best I can see right now.
