Canada Day 2010: Richmond, Steveston
byCanada Day celebrations will be happening on July 1st in Richmond with the Steveston Salmon Festival.
Where
Steveston Village in Richmond. The parade route will be Garry Point Park, through Steveston, then past the Community Centre to Railway Avenue. [Google Map]
When
July 1, 2010 10:00am – 6:00pm
Activities
The famous salmon barbecue is the main attraction where over 1200 pounds of wild salmon filets will be grilled over open fire pits. It will begin at 11:00am and will run until everything is sold out.
Parade
The parade begins 10:00am (route outlined above). It will have over 100 entries including floats, marching bands, celebrities, politicians, community groups, vintage vehicles & more. There will be a childrens’ bicycle parade will start just ahead of the main parade at 9:30am.
Music
The main stage Host is Rick Duff, GM of the River Rock Casino and Resort. He will welcome everyone during the opening ceremonies (where the national anthem will be sung) at 12:30pm before the entertainment begins.

The pancake breakfast that is put on before the parade is a family tradition.
how much is the pancake breakfast? which roads will be closed and how best to get there car/transit?
