Vancouver History: Then and Now, Intersections

Comments 5 by Rebecca Bollwitt

After a bit of a break from the Then and Now series I’ve decided to get it up and running again. Usually I explore the Vancouver Archives online database however I’ll be pulling from the Vancouver Public Library‘s collection for today’s “then” images. The “now” images have been captured from Google Maps.

With all the controversy over the possible new art gallery location, it would be interesting to see photos of the Court House/now Art Gallery over the years. I am sure there are some amazing images. I still remember going to the old gallery space on Georgia (don’t ask how old I am). A lot of things have happened on those steps over the years and I am guessing they were photographed a lot in the early years as well.

What happened to the old photos? I wanted to show these photos to my sister and the old shots are gone?
