Vancouver 2010 Pavilions & Hospitality Houses
byThe Olympics are a time for the host nation and city to shine brightly but they are also about bringing the world together.
Vancouver will be a temporary home for athletes and visitors from dozens of countries during the 2010 Olympics and there are many who have rented spaces around town to showcase their culture, cuisine, and hospitality for visitors and residents a like.

Aboriginal Pavilion
Location: Georgia & Hamilton (in the plaza at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre)
Events: Daily concert series and exhibits.

Events: Featuring an evening concert series, Alberta Train (via Rocky Mountaineer) to Whistler and back.

Location: The Arts Club Theatre on Granville Island (accessible from the Olympic Line Streetcar)
Events: Their Daily Schedule is still in the works but they’ll be featuring all the best from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.

View Vancouver 2010 Pavilions & Hospitality Houses in a larger map
The Hospitality Houses are refuges and hang-out spots for athletes and citizens but also venues for countries and provinces to showcase themselves. Each will have different levels of access. With international pavilions, your best bet for getting in is having a passport for that host nation. For example, show your Dutch passport and you’ll be treated like gold in Holland Heineken House.

The Russian house is going to turn Science World red. Those new LEDs they installed last month also have a colour-changing feature they haven’t debuted yet… but I saw them testing some of them the other night. They turned 1/4 of the globe red.

To the person who asked about Finland and Sweden,
It looks like they’ve consolidated for a general Scandinavian House out at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre in Burnaby. Unfortunately away from the buzz downtown, but it does have free parking.
Anybody know where is Czech pavilion ?? They officially opened house at Burnaby location – any address ??
Highly highly recommend Northern House [Seymour & Hasting]. It is a large wonderful interactive site!! Watch/particiapate in traditional dance; email a video postcard to family in front of a northern light backdrop; learn about diamonds; see an amazing art collection and videos. We were only in a few houses but this was best of the day hands down.

If anybody is lining up at atlantic canada house expecting food, good music and fun times… THINK AGAIN. Do not line up for this place at night. It is basically the Backstage Lounge, but waaaaay less convenient. We lined up for 1.5h while they let out 45 people and let in 10. When we got in the place was deserted and had ZERO atmosphere. Of course they didn’t let anyone know in the line-up they they were not serving food past 9pm. The most exciting part was the aquabus, BOOOOOongo!!!!
