Using social media for a cause is a fantastic idea and it seems big companies are catching on about how effective its tools can be. This summer Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise is donating 25 cents to Evergreen for every use of #realfood on Twitter. This means every time you simply make an update and include #realfood, this non-profit gets a donation.
On July 29th Hellmann’s is taking it a step further and will up their donation to a dollar a tweet. That’s right, they’re hoping that this social media medium used by thousands across Canada will help them reach their goal of $25,000 by September 30th.
The campaign doesn’t cost you a thing, and Evergreen benefits. Sounds like a good idea to me.
