Rogers Santa Claus Parade 2008
byTomorrow (December 7th) at 1:00pm the downtown core will be filled with floats, music, and a visit from the big guy himself during the Rogers Santa Claus Parade.
There’s always quite the crowd (rain or shine) so you may want to stake out your spot a bit early.
“With a longer parade route, there will be great viewing all along the route but especially: On both sides of Georgia Street on the slope between Bute and Broughton, at the Vancouver Art Gallery, or at Robson Square on Howe Street.” – [Rogers Santa Claus Parade]
As per previous years, they will be collecting donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Also if you live in the area or will be getting around the city, here’s a list of road closures from the City of Vancouver:
6:00am to 3:00pm
7:00am to 5:00pm
11:30am to 4:30pm (approximately)

The Weather Network is claiming the drizzle is supposed to be over by 10am… I’m thinking of braving the crowds with my 2 y/o to get to the parade today. A very important note from the parade website: they don’t want any umbrellas there – even if it’s raining. Break out the hooded jackets 🙂
I _might_ attend if the rain holds off. I’d like to bring my camera along but if there is any hint of the wet stuff I think I’ll stay at home.
Was going to attend but a more grown-up invitation came up instead. 😀 Once you’ve seen it once (and have the pictures), I surmise you’ve seen it all… unless you’re a kid.
Thanks for sharing my photo! 🙂
I will be there for sure!! No rain! weather is favouring us.
Think again, this is Vancouver after all. It’s 10:27 am, and there’s a downpour with no letup in sight.
Well, I’ll be darned. There are blue skies on the horizon to the West and will be here shortly. It’s going to be a gorgeous day in Vancouver.
LOL @ Cheryl… I noticed that downpour, right before the skies cleared like the parting of the red sea 😉 I ended up not going though. Hope everyone is having a great time. I bet it’s going to be super now that it’s sunny!
Thanks for sharing.
here is my Santa parade post with lots of pictures… Hope you enjoy
