Although you don’t win anything but bragging rights and a badge for your sidebar, I still like the Canadian Blog Awards as they are people-powered and they always introduce me to some great blog and sites across our nation [Canadian Blog Awards 2007].

The nomination process is complete and round one voting has now started. This will continue for another week until there is a second round of voting (finalists) and it all wraps up December 7th. You can only vote once per week, in each category.

Here are some highlights from the West Coast and some familiar faces (I realize this is not every person nominated from Vancouver, this is simply a quick list I have assembled):

  • Talented bloggers whose writing has been captivating readers for the better part of the last decade include Meg Fowler, Raymi the Minx, and Matthew Good – all up for Best Blog.
  • Raymi’s other half, Phil Ogynist, is in the running for Best Photo/Art Blog.
  • Michael Geist is up for Best Blog Post Series.
  • Local group blog and site, TechVibes is up for Best Tech Blog as well as Tris Hussey.
  • Bill Tieleman is up for Best Pundit/Professional Commentator.
  • My podcast co-host Alanah is up for Best Sports Blog for Canucks and Beyond.
  • Another podcast co-host, DaveO, is up for Best Podcaster, for several of his podcasts.
  • You may also find yours truly in a few categories as well as my blogging padawan, which makes me very proud to see him doing so well and making a name for himself.
  • On a related note, I will have a special announcement on Miss604.com on Thursday, November 27th at 7:00am about a contest, an event, prizes, and support for a local non-profit all rolled into one. This one’s going to be big for Vancouver so stay tuned.

I’ve said it publicly, on my blog, and privately when it’s just the two of us having lunch or going for a coffee: while part of my success has been my hard work, I owe a great debt of gratitude to you and your patience in teaching me and guiding me in many ways. You are one hell of a Blogging Jedi Master! But you knew this already ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m proud of you too. Hugs!
