Vancouver Icons: English Bay Inukshuk
byThe Inukshuk at English Bay is the focus of many photographs taken by locals and tourists alike. It stars with sunset views, sweeping inlet panoramas, and sparkling fireworks displays. It was the inspiration for the winning logo design for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics (which wrapped up 3 years ago this week). For this reason and more, it is this week’s Vancouver Icon photo feature:

Originally part of the Northwest Territories Pavilion during Expo 86, the Inukshuk was moved to its location along the English Bay Sea Wall in 1987.
