On Saturday night, TELUS invited me to the second to last home game for the BC Lions this year. Since 2001, TELUS has been a major sponsor of leading Canadian sport properties, currently sponsoring six of the nine CFL teams.
My involvement was two fold: Promote TELUS’ campaign for KidSport BC, wherein they would donate $1 for every RT on Twitter using the tag #AllConnected — my followers RT’ed over 100 times!
The second was to watch for Doreen’s story that would appear on the big screen. At the end of the first quarter, eyes shifted from the game to the screen at BC Place and the entire crowd was captivated to learn about how TELUS made sport accessible to a local woman with a disability. Through Virtual Reality (VR) they were able to give her a front row seat — and full 360 experience — at a the BC Lions game, with player interactions and more:
They created an experience to illustrate how sport is for everyone.
The #AllConnected campaign uses technology, in this case, Virtual Reality, to ensure everyone is able to experience sport. For BC Kids, that could mean participating with the support of KidSport. You can still help TELUS support this organization by using the tag #AllConnected on your social media channels. Every time you do, TELUS gives KidSport BC another dollar, so all kids can play.
