Grouse Mountain has announced their new ‘On the Mountain’ lineup of live entertainment and an outdoor movie series on the mountaintop this summer. Guests are invited to enjoy live music, trivia and games, as well as the return of popular summer activities and attractions like the Skyride Surf Adventure® and World-Famous Lumberjack Show®.

Grouse Mountain Outdoor Movies

Beginning July 15th, guests can enjoy ‘Movies on the Mountain’ on select Friday nights in July and August, including Ferris Bueller’s Day OffAustin Powers: International Man of MysteryThe Princess Bride and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. There will also be ‘Music on the Mountain’ featuring local performers every Sunday throughout the summer starting July 3rd and ‘Trivia on the Mountain’ hosted by IQ2000 on select Monday nights at Altitudes Bistro.

More Summer Fun On the Mountain

In addition to the On the Mountain series, guest can enjoy a variety of seasonal favourite experiences at Grouse Mountain. Soar above the trees aboard the Skyride Surf Adventure® or take in unparalleled 360° views of Vancouver on the scenic Peak Chairlift. Guests can also take to the skies for a bird’s-eye view on a Helicopter Tour above the North Shore Mountains departing from the mountaintop.

Adventure seekers can feel the rush on the exhilarating five-line Mountain Ziplines or navigate their way through the trees on the Mountain Ropes Adventure aerial ropes course. Young adventurers can explore the Kids Tree Canopy Adventure™, a fully contained activity zone for children ages 3 to 8 years old, and guests of all ages will enjoy the epic World-Famous Lumberjack Show®, featuring a 60-foot tree climb, log rolling and axe throwing.

At the Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife, guests can say hi to resident Grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, in their 5-acre habitat, watch a falcon take flight during the awe-inspiring Birds in Motion® Demonstration and learn more about wildlife through the informative Ranger Talks and Owl Talks.

Outdoor movies and live entertainment are included in your SkyRide/admission. Additional fees apply for certain mountain activities, including but not limited to, the Mountain Ropes Adventure, Mountain Zipline and more.

Broadway Across Canada has announced their upcoming season at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver beginning this winter. Kicking off the season is critically acclaimed Broadway revival FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, followed by one of the most beloved romantic stories of all time, PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, followed by the thrilling new production of DISNEY’S ALADDIN that is filled with unforgettable beauty, magic, comedy and breathtaking spectacle. Rounding off the season is the electrifying AIN’T TOO PROUD, the life and times of The Temptations that has won both Grammy® and Tony® Awards.

Summer at Britannia Mine Museum

This summer, the Britannia Mine Museum is turning up the fun by hosting a series of events to celebrate Canada Day on July 1st and an Old Town New Queens: Pride Night August 5th. The events feature the Britannia Mine Museum’s summer exhibit “More Than a Mine: Recreation in a Mining Town”, which pays homage to historic community celebrations and recreational activities of days past during its mining years between 1904 and 1974.

Throughout the day Curator of Collections and Engagement, Laura Minta Holland and Assistant Curator Heather Flynn will be leading maypole dances and hosting a number of nostalgic games for visitors of all ages to enjoy. More info & tickets »

Old Town, New Queens: Pride Night at Britannia Mine Museum
Friday, August 5, 2022 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm

Join the museum’s first-ever after hours pride night “Old Town, New Queens” in the historic 99-year-old Mill building. A National Historic Site, the 20-storey Mill building will be transformed into a huge performance space featuring some of the most amazing LGBTQIA+ drag artists from the Lower Mainland.

Entry to the event includes a 45-minute drag performance as well as evening access to the Museum’s exhibits and STEAM experiments in the Terra Lab. Drag performers will be available for meet and greets at the gold panning pavilion through the night, with food trucks and an alcohol-free ‘mocktail’ bar available on site. The family-friendly Copper & Fire Arts Event features earth-inspired jewellery, sculpture, copper work, gemstone art, pottery and painting, all inspired by the landscape, plant life and forests of the Pacific Northwest.
