Blogathon Prep

07282007 I love being a part of a team. John and I headed to 7-11 just a little while ago (between posts) and got some coffees to prepare us for the day. We seriously don’t mind 7-11 coffee and lately John’s actually preferred it over Starbucks and Blenz.

He’s on his way out to Mission for a radio remote and hopefully will be checking in later today, sending me some photos so I can promote his event. Me, I’m loading up with coffee and a muffin. Caffeine and sugar, must keep it coming.

Shout out to Jennie Roth who also wrote a blog post about my efforts – thanks!

Hospital Music in 3 Days

Add a Comment by Rebecca Bollwitt

On Tuesday July 31st the highly anticipated Hospital Music by Matthew Good hits record store shelves. Of course my niece would turn to me right now and say “what’s the record” but I digress. Starting a press tour prior to the actual concert tour, Matt’s been pretty busy lately.

Every review and blog post I’ve read by those in attendance at his recent XM show with Dale Jr say his private performance was just amazing. Also, The Daily News in Halifax just gave the forthcoming album ‘5 out of 5’. Matt’s just been interviewed by the CBC and several other publications as well, with more to come. Radio shows and appearances are aplenty and he’ll be doing his best to update fans through his website about any public events. Pick up your copy of Hospital Music on Tuesday, July 31 and you can also preview a live stream of the album on his website until that time.

Stanley Cup Comes to Town

Comments 1 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Actually, it’s going to tip some cows in Duane’s hometown of Chilliwack.

The Stanley Cup pays Chilliwack a visit [today], appearing at Cottonwood Mall along with Anaheim Ducks general manager, and Chilliwack Bruins co-owner Brian Burke.

Starting from Dakota’s Restaurant at 11:30 a.m., Burke and the Stanley Cup will be joined by a number of RCMP officers who will escort him to the Mall.

Burke and the Stanley Cup will be stationed next to Rogers Wireless from noon until 3 p.m., signing autographs and posing for pictures. [Chilliwack Progress]

It’s pretty bittersweet, as I’m sure we’d all love to see the Canucks parading down Robson with the prize hoisted above their heads, but Chilliwack… close enough. For now.

Pre-Blogstock Fun

The brews at Steamworks are pretty good but when you hang out on their patio for 4 hours on a sunny Friday afternoon, it just makes it all that much better. I met up with Corinna, Adam, Tony, Duane and Keira before the actual event of Blogstock 07. I didn’t make it to the larger get together which took place after our little group’s Steamworks meetup since I had to get up early this morning.. *cough*.

Some of the bloggers in attendance were Chad Ciavarro and Danielle Rossi, two local bloggers who have been going strong for years and would have been a pleasure to meet.

I had my Nokia 6682 to take pics in the early evening, those can all be found in the Flickr set here.

The Zit Remedy

Comments 1 by Rebecca Bollwitt

From awesome geocities site

Before some silliness starts today I might as well rehash some of the silliness from last night.

While meeting up with Corinna, Adam, Tony and Duane, Keira mentioned something about Degrassi. I shouted out “The Zit Remedy!” and ever since then we’ve both had their song stuck in our heads intermittently (either that or the Expo 86 theme song).

So here they are to wake me up, Wheels, Snake and Joey… The Zit Remedy with “Everybody wants something” (listen via Myspace)
