The Vancouver Canadians continue their annual tradition of inviting your four-legged friend to the ballpark with you on Tuesday, July 22nd as they host Vancouver Canadians Dog Day of Summer presented by Bosley’s by Pet Valu.
The Hillsboro Hops will take on the Vancouver Canadians at Nat Bailey Stadium (4601 Ontario St) at 7:05pm while fans enjoy some great baseball with all of their family members, furry or otherwise.
The first 200 people with a dog will get a $5 gift card from Bosley’s by Pet Valu. There will be plenty for the dogs to enjoy at this game as well, like watering stations, activities and two-foot Fungo hot dogs.
Tickets are just $12.50 for reserved grandstand, or $16 for box seats, and they can be purchased online in advance or at the Nat Bailey box office. All dogs must be on a leash, up to date on vaccinations, and owners should download this waiver or fill it out on-site tomorrow.

Imagine picking up some of Harbite‘s new Jalapeño flavour chips, crunching into a handful of perfectly kettle-cooked morsels, licking your fingers, reaching again for the bag of BC’s only locally produced potato chip and seeing your awesome photograph front and centre on the packaging!
Harbite Potato Chips is asking its customers to contribute a ‘hot shot’ to be featured on the packaging of their new Jalapeño flavor chips. Along with bragging rights, the winner will receive $500, a GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition camera and – of course – free chips.
Hardbite Potato Chips Photo Contest
In keeping with its current family of packages featuring iconic BC locations, photos should capture a favourite summer activity: anything from hiking to surfing, swimming to cliff jumping. Up to three original, high-resolution ‘hot shots’ should be uploaded to the company’s website by July 31, 2014.
A panel of judges will be looking for image quality, composition and how well the picture represents the Jalapeño flavour: exciting, daring and satisfying. 25 finalists will be selected to face off in a public vote and the entry with the most votes on August 31 wins. Which means all through August those finalists will be busy recruiting friends, family and possibly total strangers to vote for their photo.
All entries must be original photos taken in BC featuring a person engaged in a summer, outdoor activity. Photos must be in digital format: high resolution or minimum 2500 pixels wide. They must also be in JPEG format.
Proud to have roots right here in BC, Hardbite is produced in Maple Ridge by a dedicated group of employees who carefully craft every bag of chips by hand with no artificial anything. No GMOs, gluten, trans fats or cholesterol.
Saturday at Pemberton Festival was the busiest to date on the festival grounds, with crowds well exceeding those that flocked to the stages on previous days. The back-to-back lineup of entertainment on all six stages, including Laugh Camp with some of North America’s most popular comedians, had concert-goers on their feet almost constantly as they shifted from one viewing area (or beer garden) to the next.

The sets were long compared to most festival schedules, there was plenty of food options, many beer garden locations, you could bring your own (empty) bottle on site to fill at the free water stations, and there was even enough room for chairs, picnic blankets, and strollers for families that hung back from the stage on the grass. We hopped off the shuttle at the impressive Pemberton Festival grounds yesterday and immediately stopped to take in the panoramic view. Mount Currie on one side, evergreen-covered slopes on the other, vast green fields, and stages in every corner pumping out crowd-pleasing beats.

Pemberton Festival officially began on Wednesday but Friday was the first full day of concerts as thousands enjoyed everything from Blondie covering the Beastie Boys to Kendrick Lamar’s impressive (albeit late starting) set, and the sun popping out from behind the clouds when Soundgarden took to the Pemberton Stage.
Pemberton Festival Tips and Info
There are at least a half a dozen beer gardens (with cocktail bars) on site along with multiple washroom areas (collections of porta potties), hand washing stations with running water, and water bottle refill stations. You can bring in your own empty water bottle and fill it up for free throughout the day. Continue reading this post 〉〉

I loved this dress, and it can be yours! Photos by Liz Dungate.
I had the pleasure of modelling two of the dresses (one of which is seen in the photos above) that will be available for bidding/purchase through the online auction. Thanks to Tugboat and Liz Dungate, I got glam for the cause and to support the vital work that Surrey Women’s Centre does for women in our community.
