Ideas on Tap at the Commodore June 2009

Comments 15 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Ideas on Tap is happening tonight at the Commodore Ballroom from 5:30pm until 8:30pm. Correct me if I’m wrong but with 800 tickets scooped up already this may very-well be the largest social media-type gathering this town has seen (I’m thinking Northern Voice say numbers up to 400 so this could be the case).

Comments 9 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Today we’re not only voting in the Provincial election, but British Columbians are also participating in a referendum on electoral reform. This means we can vote to change our current plurality or “first past the post” electoral process to BC-STV or “single transferable vote”. I’ve been looking for resources, I had some interview opportunities to […]

Canadian Hazelnut: Circle Farm Tour

Comments 3 by Rebecca Bollwitt

The last stop on my Circle Farm Tour last week in Harrison & Agassiz was at Canadian Hazelnut [Google Map]. A team of brothers run the family operation, growing, processing and selling a variety of hazelnut products. We got a tour of the grounds, where their dogs came out to greet us and nibble on […]

Continuing my election coverage I have requested interviews with several of the candidates for Premier and they have all been gracious enough to supply answers to my questions (in email or video form). The following are the responses from Carole James of the BC NDP (some of the questions are similar to those I have […]

Candidate Interview with Jane Sterk

Comments 9 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Update: Some may have found chunks of Jane’s responses have been copied/pasted from the Green Party’s website. As my website stands for genuine and authentic content, I have contacted the Green Party about this issue and will update again shortly. Update: May 8, 2009 – I had a telephone conversation with Jane Sterk and have […]
