Autumn is here and so is our latest edition of Vancouver Eats with delicious Thanksgiving menus, new openings and events to be found around the region. We’ve curated a list of our newest culinary favourites, events, along with notable limited edition menus around Metro Vancouver.

New Openings

Dolce Amore Caffetteria to officially open on October 4th

  • Where: 6011 Hastings Street, Burnaby
  • When: Saturday, October 4th from 7:30am – 11:00pm
  • Details: Dolce Amore is a modern Italian cafeteria – a new place for the neighbourhood to gather for great coffee, baked goods, pizza al taglio and desserts. Dolce Amore Caffetteria joins “TGM Terrazza” in the same building, which opened this past summer. And soon, Il Cappello Enoteca will open later this fall, to complete the series. The pastry menu will feature a selection of housemade treats, such as cornetti (Italian version of a croissant made with a brioche-like dough), double-baked croissants, pain au chocolats, and seasonal danishes. There will also be freshly baked artisanal breads and baguettes available for takeaway, in addition to their much anticipated pizza.

The Nightmare Bar Invades Vancouver

  • Where: Alibi Room, 157 Alexander Street, Vancouver
  • When: October 3rd – 31st
  • Details: “The Nightmare Before Bar” Vancouver (inspired by Tim Burton) offers a 90-minute escape into a Halloween wonderland inspired by iconic films and classic horror. A full themed menu of drinks and special dishes awaits, adding an extra layer of eeriness to your visit. There is also an opportunity to participate in Halloween-themed activities, costumes encouraged.

Fairmont Hotel Halloween

  • Where: 900 W Georgia Street, Vancouver
  • When: Starting Now until November
  • Details: Fairmont Hotel is inviting guests to explore a spooky side of luxury this Halloween. Their events include:
    • Haunted Cellar Afternoon Tea, this is a themed tea with a gothic take on their usual elegance. Guests are invited to savour a delicious array of seasonal savoury bites and sweets – from a black magic tuna tartare atop a house-made potato chip, to the homemade cheesecake with raspberry “blood” gel. Tea is available Wednesday to Sunday, until November 9th, with seatings at 11:00am, 1:00 pm and 3:00pm. Reservations can be made online.
    • JINX Speakeasy, is hidden in the hotel’s lower lobby and is the latest speakeasy. Inspired by the curious craft of old-world apothecaries, this speakeasy is equal parts moody lounge and magical potion lab. JINX is open Wednesday to Saturday evenings, beginning on October 1st until November 1st. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are available here. Tarot card readings will be available on Wednesday’s from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
    • Castle Confidential, the hotel’s infamous 14th floor, long rumoured to house more than just luxury suites, sets the stage for the return of an immersive mystery experience in partnership with Vancouver Mysteries. Guests will become part of an unfolding drama, engaging with costumed characters, decoding hidden clues and exploring themed rooms while sipping on cocktails. Castle Confidential will take place over two evenings – October 24 and 25th.

The Skript Kitchen Launches Commissary and Cooking Classes

  • Where: The Skript Kitchen, 250 West 3rd Avenue, Vancouver
  • When: Now Open
  • Details: The Skript Kitchen is Vancouver’s new gluten-free dedicated commissary kitchen for food entrepreneurs and catering companies. In addition to its shared kitchen space, founder Renée Chan is also opening the doors with its first slate of cooking classes. The line-up begins with mooncake workshops, followed by a variety of seasonal and classic culinary experiences. There is also a rooftop event space – great for gatherings, workshops and product launches.
    • Upcoming cooking classes include: Four Coloured Snowy Mooncakes on October 4th, Matcha Madness – Sweet Treats on October 11th, Indian Cooking with Annie Muljiani of Galloway’s Foods on October 25th and Dim Sum: Har Gao & Siu Mai from scratch on November 8th.

Railtown Catering Turkey To Go Feasts

  • Where: 397 Railtown Street, Vancouver
  • When: All orders must be placed by Wednesday, October 8th, at 10:00am – October 11th-13th from 11:00am to 5:00pm
  • Details: Railtown Catering is once again offering Thanksgiving To-Go Catering. Each package features a juicy Sage-Roasted Turkey accompanied by chef-crafted fixings and sides like Apricot Chestnut Brioche Bread Stuffing, Maple-Glazed Sweet Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts with Toasted Almonds. To finish, a house-made pumpkin pie with piped Chantilly cream is the perfect sweet treat.
    • They are available in two sizes: Full, with a whole turkey and enough sides to generously feed 10-12 people for $475 or the smaller gathering option of the Half Package at $325 for 5-6 guests. Orders can be placed online or by calling 604-568-8811.

Thanksgiving with Boulevard

  • Where: 845 Burrard Street, Vancouver
  • When: Pre-orders close October 7th, pick-up available October 11th – 12th
  • Details: Bring home the Boulevard experience this Thanksgiving with their chef-prepared Turkey Dinner To-Go. This multi-course feast includes sage-roasted turkey with all the trimmings, featuring brioche chestnut apple stuffing, honey-glazed carrots and caramel apple pie. Packages are available in a variety of sizes, serving 4 – 10 guests, with enhancements such as BLVD cornbread, Chef Roger Ma’s reserve caviar and artisanal charcuterie. Reserve yours here. Fall Celebrations at Bacchus: Afternoon Tea, Oktoberfest and Thanksgiving

  • Where: 845 Hornby Street, Vancouver
  • When: Tea until October 25th, Oktoberfest ends October 5th, Thanksgiving on Sunday, October 12th and October 13th
  • Details: This fall, Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge, located inside Vancouver’s Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, welcomes harvest season with three culinary experiences – Fall Afternoon Tea, executive chef Stefan Hartmann’s Bavarian-inspired Oktoberfest celebration and its classic Thanksgiving brunch and dinner (featuring their Honey Braised Pumpkin, Slow-Roasted Sage Turkey Breast & Roulade).   • Details: Rosie’s Hospitality is bringing back the Turkey Tailgate for another year. Rosie’s sugar brines their fresh turkeys for 24 hours then stuffs them with onions and oranges and smokes them for a rich flavour and tenderness. Southern-inspired sides include smoked mac & cheese and housemade cornbread alongside buttermilk mashed Pemberton potatoes, bread stuffing, and pan-roasted local veggies. Brisket is also available for purchase. The full turkey dinners feed 8-10 hungry people for just $295 with half dinners to feed 4-5 available for $195. Pre-order online.

  • Details: Available for lunch ($38, minimum 10 guests) and dinner ($46, minimum six guests), the 2025 Turkey Menu features a Mixed Green and Endive Salad with roasted fennel, basil, orange sections, sliced red onions and Campari dressing and a lineup of mains that includes paprika, oregano, garlic and thyme Spiced Turkey, Charred Brussels Sprouts with lime ginger dressing, Boursin Mashed Potatoes, Sage Brioche Stuffing, Ginger Cranberry Sauce, the signature Lazy Gourmet Gravy and Espresso Chocolate Silk Tart.   • Thanksgiving Turkey To-Go
    • When: Ordering deadline, October 9. Pick-up date: October 12. Pick-up times: 10:00am – 4:00pm.
    • Details: Celebrate Thanksgiving from the comfort of your home with an impressive holiday dinner from Executive Chef Mike Reid. All you need to do is pick up your order on Sunday, October 12, and warm it for your guests when you’re ready to eat. Detailed heating instructions are included. Full Turkey $475 | Serves 8-10. Chinese Restaurant Awards: A Month of Chinese dining experiences with The Dalmore

  • Details: Launched last year as a way to chase the fall blues away, Social October at The Greek was the hit of the season with guests unlocking a huge 40% discount off a range of popular dishes by getting social by with a review, story or post to social media.
