Volunteer for the FIFA World Cup in Vancouver
The City of Vancouver describes volunteer as anyone ready to represent our city and country with pride. “If you know where to find the best coffee, the fastest bike lane, or the quietest seawall view, you might be exactly who we need. Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or just arrived with open arms, your local spirit will help welcome the world. What matters most is your energy, your reliability, and your desire to be part of a historic moment.”
The FIFA World Cup 26™ volunteer team will be made up of about 65,000 volunteers, the largest volunteer program for FIFA to-date. These volunteers will help bring to life the biggest and best FIFA World Cup™ yet – a tournament that will unite three countries, 16 Host Cities and billions of hearts around the world.
“Being a volunteer during the 2010 Olympics was a once in a lifetime experience,” says Laura who was one of the iconic blue jacket volunteers for the Games. “I have great memories of both the events that I was assigned, like the Opening Ceremonies and men’s gold medal hockey game, but more importantly the teams I worked with during each shift.” Vancouver 2010 volunteers still host reunions to relive the community, camaraderie, and spirit of the Games.
What Volunteers Will Do
As a tournament volunteer you may be stationed along key routes to the stadium greeting fans, providing accessibility guidance, sharing your tournament knowledge, helping with language support, managing accreditations, or volunteering in the heart of the action at the FIFA Fan Festival™.
Who Can Volunteer?

- Volunteers at FIFA events range in age from 18 to over 80 and come from all over the world.
- Volunteers are needed from all backgrounds, experiences and abilities. From students to retirees, from first-timers to seasoned veterans, FIFA World Cup 26™ volunteers will be a diverse group united by a passion for football.
