Contest and Giveaways
The Contest for Book Lovers encourages readers to buy books on Canadian Independent Bookstore Day in support and celebration of indies. Books must be purchased from a Canadian independent bookstore on Saturday, April 25, 2026 to be eligible. Upload your CIBD purchase receipt for the chance to win one of four $200 gift cards or the grand prize of a $1,000 gift card to spend at the member bookstore of your choice. The entry form will be made available online beginning at midnight on April 25, 2026 and it will remain open for one week, until 11:59pm PT on Friday, May 1, 2026.
Canadian Independent Bookstore Day grew from “Canadian Authors for Indies Day,” launched in 2015 by Janie Chang, who encouraged hundreds of authors to support independent bookstores on a particular day through readings, signings and other activities.
