Team Canada FanFest & Cauldron Lighting in Vancouver
There are many ways engage with Team Canada at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games starting with Team Canada FanFest, a series of free, fan-focused events in four cities in Canada: Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal.
We have about 2900 athletes sporting the maple leaf in 116 Olympic events (February 6 to 22, 2026), and the Paralympic team (March 6-15, 2026) will be announced soon.

Team Canada FanFest
- Dates: Sunday, February 15 & Monday, February 16 (Family Day) from 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Location: Jack Poole Plaza (1055 Canada Pl, Vancouver)
- Admission: Free
The events will feature competition viewing, Team Canada athlete appearances, winter sport participation and demonstrations as well as a roster of exciting Team Canada partner activations.
In Toronto, Calgary and Montreal, there will be ice skating, the Vancouver program schedule is TBD but skating won’t be possible. It will be during Fan Expo Vancouver so the plaza will be very busy.
Follow Team Canada on Instagram for updates, as well as the Canadian Paralympic Team, check out the athletes and Para athletes who will be competing, and tune in to the Winter Games to cheer on Canada.
Cauldron Lighting in Vancouver
Per an email I received from a Team Canada representative, the Vancouver 2010 cauldron at Jack Poole Plaza will be lit for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic (February 6) and Paralympic Games (March 6), but not for Team Canada FanFest.
About the Games
Milan will be a first-time host of the Olympic Games, after previously bidding for the Games of 1908 (which went to London) and 2000 (which went to Sydney). Cortina d’Ampezzo successfully hosted the 1956 Olympic Winter Games after being awarded the 1944 Olympic Winter Games which were later cancelled due to World War II.
These will be the fourth Olympic Games to be held in Italy. Four years after Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956, the Games of the XVII Olympiad took place at Rome 1960. The Winter Games returned to Italy at Turin 2006 after Cortina’s failed bids for the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Winter Games.Â
