Taste of Chinatown! returns to the Chinatown Storytelling Centre February 6-22 to ring in the Lunar New Year, the year of the horse, with a lineup of events.

Taste of Chinatown for Lunar New Year in Vancouver
Programming takes place primarily at the Chinatown Storytelling Centre (168 E Pender St, Vancouver), with select pop-ups and retail collaborations extending beyond the Centre.
Now in its third year, the celebration brings the season to life through ticketed tasting events, creative workshops, family-friendly programming, and Foo Hung Curios collaborations, offering multiple ways for the public to celebrate Lunar New Year while supporting local cultural spaces and businesses.

- Family Day: The Art of Fai Cheun
- On Family Day, create your own beautiful fai cheun using a fish for abundance or a heart for care, and add a traditional blessing or write your own to carry your wishes into the new year. Fai Cheun (or fai chun) are handwritten calligraphy blessings displayed at Lunar New Year to invite abundance and harmony. Each poetic phrase is written with intention, using ink and brush. Drop-in 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

“Lunar New Year is a time for celebration, and in the Year of the Horse, we embrace the spirit of vitality and community,” says Carol Lee, Chair of the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation. “Taste of Chinatown! is an opportunity for the Foundation to work alongside local businesses and partners to celebrate Chinatown as a unique and beloved destination in Vancouver.”
