Pattullo Bridge and stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge Closure for a Week
Starting next Friday, February 6, 2026 the Pattullo Bridge and stal̕əw̓asəm (Riverview) Bridge will be fully closed for one week. TransLink has announced there will be no vehicle access on the old bridge because of ongoing construction and transition work on the new bridge.

Pattullo Bridge and stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge Closure for a Week
- From 8:00pm Friday, February 6 to TBD
The Pattullo Bridge’s sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists, and emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Reopening details for the Pattullo Bridge will be shared once confirmed and are weather dependent.
This upcoming closure is needed to finish connections to the roadways on both sides of the new bridge. The work includes raising ground levels, putting in utilities, completing paving, and installing the foundation for the Royal-Agnes multi-use path overpass. To ensure public and worker safety, the bridge will be closed to vehicles during this time.
During the closure, the following traffic and transit changes will be in place:
- Drivers can use the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternative routes.
- N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted between New Westminster and Scott Road stations.
- Extra N19 NightBus service will be in place to ensure trips remain on schedule.
- SkyTrain service on the Expo and Millennium lines will start one hour earlier on Sunday, February 8.
There will be signage to indicate all traffic pattern changes, including at affected bus stops, and traffic control personnel will be on site. Rerouted drivers and transit users should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time.
The busy BC Family Day Long Weekend will begin on Friday, February 13 with many school districts hosting a Pro-D Day on Friday as well.
