Queen Elizabeth Park (Vancouver)
As the highest point in Vancouver, Queen Elizabeth Park offers incredible views of the surrounding city and North Shore mountains. Home to the Bloedel Conservatory (an indoor tropical conservatory), the park is popular for its landscaped garden full of exotic and native trees, sculptures, and recreational areas like tennis courts, basketball courts, lawn bowling, and pitch & putt. The park is a short walk from VanDusen Botanical Gardens, another fantastic spot for a picnic (though it is ticketed for entry).

It’s easily accessible by transit: take the Canada Line SkyTrain to King Edward Station then walk around 10 minutes to the park entrance. Several bus routes (including the 15 and 33) also stop nearby if you’d rather skip the uphill walk.
Rocky Point Park (Port Moody)

It’s easily accessible by transit: take the Millennium Line SkyTrain to Moody Centre Station, then it’s just a 10 minute walk to the park.
Whytecliff Park (West Vancouver)
Located at the corner of Howe Sound, Whytecliff Park features an incredible coastline view. With a playground, tennis courts, walking trails, and swimming beach area, Whytecliff is the perfect spot for a picnic on the beach in West Vancouver.
- Getting to Whytecliff Park: Whytecliff Park is located at 7100 Marine Drive, West Vancouver and offers free parking. Transit access is pretty limited so driving or rideshare is recommended; however, you can take a bus to Horseshoe Bay (250 or 262) from downtown Vancouver and then walk around 20 minutes or take a cab.

Queen’s Park (New Westminster)
Visit Queen’s Park in New Westminster for a 75 acre natural getaway, packed with activities and amenities. Walking trails connect amenities like tennis courts, sports fields, an off-leash dog park, skatepark, playgrounds, a spray park, and concession stand. Queen’s Park also features a stunning rose garden!
- Getting to Queen’s Park: Queen’s Park is located at 3rd Avenue and First Street in New Westminster and offers free parking for drivers. The park is accessible by transit: take the Expo Line SkyTrain to Columbia or New Westminster Station, then transfer to a bus (105 or 155) that stops a short walk from the park.

Mundy Park (Coquitlam)
