Barra Gitano is gearing up for Pride Weekend with a lineup of block parties, DJs, food and drink to celebrate from August 1 to 3, 2025 around Jim Deva Plaza.

Barra Gitano will be opening an early (2:00pm) on Saturday for the Garden of Sin Block Party, and again on Sunday for the Pride Parade Block Party, showcasing local DJs (from 4:00pm to late). It will be surrounded by the Davie Village Pride Festival on Sunday as well.
Located at the former Hamburger Mary’s at Davie and Bute, Barra Gitano offers a unique menu of Mexican and Latin American-inspired small plates, entrées and tacos.

It is the latest project for the local team behind The Flying Pig restaurants in Vancouver and Victoria and the acclaimed Ophelia Cocina Mexicana in Olympic Village and Monarca Cocina Mexicana in Gastown. Open Wednesday to Sunday for dinner and late-night drinks, Barra Gitano offers seating for 100 in its cozy and inviting dining room and outdoor patio and a unique menu of Mexican and Latin American-inspired small plates, entrées and tacos as well as a full bar showcasing handcrafted cocktails, artisanal spirits, craft beer and wine.
Partial proceeds from sales throughout the weekend will be donated to the Vancouver Pride Society, the a non-profit organization that produces events that reflect the strength and pride of the 2SLGBTQA!+ community.
Throughout the weekend, Barra Gitano will keep the good vibes going with a Pride-themed menu of delicious food and drink features. The Pride weekend cocktail menu features signature libations like the Gitano Margarita, Spicy Pineapple Mezcalita, Catching Feelings (Driftwood Contact gin, 400 Conejos mezcal, passion fruit syrup, lime, soda), and Something Tiki (Captain Morgan original spiced rum, licor 43, pineapple juice, pineapple bitters, lime).
