Free Gardening Workshops for a Cause in Richmond
Take part in free gardening workshops in Richmond, from May to September, that not only teach you pruning and planting tips, you’ll also be contributing to a garden that provides fresh produce to local charities combatting food insecurity.

Since 2021, the Food Garden at Lansdowne Centre has donated nearly 3,000 lbs of fresh produce to local organizations. The initiative is now expanding to support the Meals on Wheels (MOW) program under The Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC), while continuing its donations to the Richmond Food Bank Society.
The MOW program delivers hot, nutritious meals to seniors, caregivers, and individuals with chronic or acute medical conditions, or those recovering from surgery or illness in Vancouver and Richmond. Fresh vegetables from the Lansdowne Food Garden will be part of these meals helping to nourish some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
Free Gardening Workshops
Hosted by Victory Gardens, the workshops take place every Thursday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in the southeast parking lot near T&T Supermarket, running from May 1 through September 4, 2025. There is no need to register in advance.
Open to all ages and skill levels, each session features hands-on instruction on home gardening techniques and seasonal planting tips. Crops grown in the garden include beets, carrots, fennel, broccoli, potatoes, garlic, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, and more.
