The Polygon Gallery presents Deckchair Cinema – free outdoor movies in North Vancouver every Thursday night at sunset from the end of June to the end of August, 2024.

Free Outdoor Movies in North Vancouver

  • When: Every Thursday from June 27 until August 29, 2024
  • Where: Cates Deck (The Shipyards), Spirit Trail, North Vancouver. In front of The Polygon Gallery.
  • Admission: Admission to Deckchair Cinema is by donation, courtesy of BMO Financial Group, and includes access to the Gallery’s summer exhibitions

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and make themselves comfortable by bringing their own blankets or low chairs. A concession stand will feature drinks from local breweries, which can be enjoyed on Cates Deck, a public zone for alcohol consumption.

July 11th is also the Opening Night for Anti-Icon Apokalypsis at the Gallery, admission is free. The new, landmark series Anti-Icon: Apokalypsis, by acclaimed photographer Martine Gutierrez, refuses ready understandings of identity, gender, and culture. Across seventeen self-portraits, Gutierrez embodies a pantheon of legendary figures – all female or feminized – from across the world’s legends, histories, and myths.
