byPort Coquitlam is hosting their very first Car Free Day on September 10th! Enjoy a last blast of summer fun with a lively street festival featuring family-friendly activities and games, great local food and beverages, community booths, entertainment and more.

- When: Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm
- Where: McAllister Avenue, Downtown Port Coquitlam
Take transit, walk or roll to Car Free Day Port Coquitlam, presented by Translink and in partnership with Downtown PoCo BIA. Festivities include:
- Live music
- Children’s entertainment
- Great food, available from local restaurants and food trucks
- Local breweries
- Free family-friendly activities like mini golf, ninja obstacle course, and a bicycle skills zone
- Roving entertainers
- Booths presented by local businesses and community groups
- Electric vehicles on display
“I encourage our community to join us downtown for a free, fun, family-friendly Car Free Day street festival,” said Mayor Brad West. “Initiatives such as Car Free Days are a great opportunity to try other modes of transportation, whether it’s transit, cycling, walking and more.”
Car free days take place across the country and aim to inspire people to get out of their cars, interact with each other, and explore alternative modes of transportation.
TransLink encourages sustainable transportation to local destinations via its many campaigns such as the Ride & Shine Campaign. This year’s campaign offers a new bike valet service, discounts to local summer destinations, and a series of Car Free festivals.
