Japadog Eating Contest at YVR Airport
byJapadog has become a quintessential Vancouver food cart that even has Hollywood and Food Network celebrities lining up next to their street-side carts. They’ll be hosting their first eating competition at Vancouver International Airport next month and everyone is welcome to sign up for the challenge.

When Friday, August 17, 2012 (during Take Off Fridays) from 12:30pm to 1:00pm
Where Haida Gwaii, The Spirit of the Jade Canoe on level 3 of the international terminal
The winner receives $250 YVR bucks to spend in the airport and a $50 Japadog gift certificate. To become a contestant, visit the Japadog cart at YVR which is located near Chester Johnson Park – right when you head from the parking garage to the international terminal, on ground level. Entries are currently being accepted until August 8, 2012.
Contestants will be chosen at random from all entries and contacted by telephone. All participants will be awarded $15 YVR bucks and a $10 Japadog gift certificate, just for participating.
These hot dogs with a uniquely West Coast fusion flare (topped with seaweed, shredded cabbage, soy or miso sauce, and more) have built up an empire expanding from a small food cart in downtown Vancouver to opening up storefronts, including one in New York City.
