Vancouver Wellness Show 2012
byThe 20th annual Wellness Show is happening this weekend at the Vancouver Convention Centre East (Canada Place). For three full days, February 17th, 18th, and 19th, you can check out hundreds of exhibitors, workshops, demos, and products for just $16.
Exhibitors include Choices Market, Genuine Health, Integrative Health Services, Health Products for Pets, and the famous Holy Crap cereal. The stages will feature culinary talents like Executive Chefs Ned Bell and Pino Posteraro, Hidekazu Tojo, CTV’s Dr. Rhonda Low, Lorne Cardinal of Corner Gas, Michael D’Alton, emcee Kate Gajdosik, and many more.
Stop by the show today until 8:00pm, tomorrow from 10:00am to 7:00pm, and Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. General admission is $16, $14 for seniors and students, $6 for children up (6 to 15) and children under 5 are free. You can also pick up a 3-day pass for $30.

Wake up at a regular time everyday, regardless of when you went to bed!
Walk! Take the stairs when you can especially if you want to avoid the “secretary spread.”
Drink more water!
Drink water. Better yet, bring your own container/bottle.
Exercise daily.
Don’t smoke, love yourself and drink a glass of wine everyday
Get Moving!
Drink more green tea!
Stretch, stretch, stretch!
Eat more dark, leafy greens.

try to eat as much real, whole unprocessed foods as possible! cutting up fruit and veggies to have in the fridge ready to go makes it easy to grab as a snack!
Kale. Sleep. Love yourself. Vegetables. Exercise.
Keep a bottle of water with you always.
Walk as much as possible instead of riding!
One big tip: get enough sleep. We are all too sleep deprived (me too) and we need 6-8 hours of deep sleep in order to function effectively.

Make your own home cleaners with food grade ingredients and make your own cosmetics like sugar scrubs, tea toners and shampoo with baking soda to keep toxics out of your body and the planet.
Get your heart-rate up with exercise at least 4 times a week.
Learn to read your own body’s signals – get extra sleep when you need it, say no to things that stress you, and put your own health as a priority!

Drink a reasonable amount of water and walk as much as you can!
Exercise daily!
Eat less processed food and more fruits and vegetables!
Cut down on your caffeine intake and drink more water.
Eat your greens! Throw spinach in practically anything and everything, it has very little taste 🙂
Get enough sleep!
Keep your car keys at home and ride your bike.

Drink plenty of Water, keeps you full and your system running efficiently.
Don’t sweat the little things (and even a lot of the bigger things) – stress eats away at you
Smile more and and get lots of rest. Walk the dog more often.
Smile often, help others when you can and hug your kids and/or grandkids as often as you can…..it will make you feel so good.
Keep up to date on health research. Wellness Show has some good talks.
Breathe….remember we create our world…it can be either “Good Morning God” or “Good God Morning” Namaste 🙂
Take a little bit of time for yourself everyday…giving yourself a few minutes a day that are just for you really helps to keep stress levels down and helps you to be a happier person!

Find a form of movement you love, and do your best to get in 30 minutes a day. Dancing in your living room, taking exercise classes, cycling, whatever you can do and you love.

Perform random acts of kindness regularly…but secretly
Don’t forget to put yourself on your schedule. You need ‘me time’ too. Meditate, read, walk in nature, enjoy some tea and reflect on the day. Even just 5 minutes a day is a world of difference.
Drink two glasses of room temperature water with a squirt of lemon juice in each first thing in the morning.
Such a simple practice will really boost your morning routine and set you off on the right foot: hydrated and detoxified.
Watch what you eat- do not eat canned food- too much sodium.
Have some time for yourself and for self reflection!!
Drink 6-8 glasses of liquid daily!
Meditate every morning for 20 minutes before breakfast.
Smile and take time to greet people.
Walk to work everday.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Don’t eat the Bag of Old Dutch Chips they give you in a “welcome bag” when you enter the wellness show.. Yes, i’m not even kidding, they actually put a bag of chips in a brown paper bag they give you when you enter the “wellness show” wow!
The mouth is the gateway to your body, so more than ever we realize the importance of brushing, flossing and good dental care for teeth and gums. ☺

Start the day with a healthy breakfast and finish it with a good night’s sleep. If something’s on your mind before bedtime, write it down so you can rest easier.
Eat breakfast! Even a spoonful of peanut butter is better than nothing!
I always get off the bus one stop early, that way I get some exercise.
