HOV Lanes Open Weekends & Highway 1 Updates

Comments 2 by Rebecca Bollwitt

The Port Mann Highway 1 Improvement Project, through expanded lanes, new overpasses, and the construction of the new Port Mann bridge, is kicking into overdrive as it nears completion. As new lanes and exits take shape there are quite a few traffic pattern changes that will affect drivers.

  • Starting February 3, 2012 our HOV lanes will be open to all traffic on weekends (7:00pm Friday to 6:00am Monday) regardless of the number of occupants.
  • For the next 6 to 8 months, Eastbound traffic will exit on the left at 152nd Street.
  • As of February 1, 2012, access to 104A Ave from 104 Ave will be permanently closed. This closure is required for the construction of the new intersection at 104 Ave & 176 Street and the future connection to the South Fraser Perimeter Road.

Follow @PortMannHwy1 on Twitter for updates like these, notices, detours, photos, and more regarding the project.

Wow closing the HOV lanes on the weekend is a real step backwards. Such an anti-enviromental move.

@Cheryl K. Read it again! They are Not closing the HOV lanes on weekends. They are opening them up to all traffic to assist with flow. Pay attention.
