YEG Wood Sunglasses Giveaway

Comments 172 by Rebecca Bollwitt

I often receive emails through my contact form about new products and services but this is only the second time a message has been about sunglasses. Not limiting my contest to purely big-brand items, I am pleased to partner with YEG Wood for a unique giveaway.

YEG Wood, based out of Edmonton, makes wooden apparel such as watches, iPhone cases, and sunglasses. Sustainably made from Cherrywood, their eco-chic TreeFarers style is based on the classis Ray-Ban Wayfarer. The hinges are spring-loaded so they can bend in or out and the lenses have a medium tint, rated UV400.

They have offered up a pair of wooden sunglasses to one lucky reader of mine. The winner can choose between the TreeFarer in Cherry, the TreeFarer in Rust, or the Porschler in Marble — all valued at $119.

To enter to win, leave a comment on this post naming your favourite tree species or favourite specific tree (as we’re sticking with a wooden theme). My favourite tree is in Stanley Park, just up the Third Beach Trail, although it was a victim of the windstorm five years ago.

There is a tree near my moms house that was put up one day when I was younger.
My brothers and I always used to run into the woods behind an empty lot and there was an empty space that we would play in. One day we ran back there and a tree was planted. It wasn’t like any other tree, it was a pale green, almost white in colour. I never found out what the tree was (or where it came from) but I always thought fondly of it because it brings back great memories of playing with my brothers.

    Oh Maple tree….where to begin?
You provide sticky, sugary syrup for drizzling upon our pancakes turning a flat bland bread into a really special morning treat. You provide much needed (and appreciated) shade on the hottest of days and we can hang tire swings from you to swoop around over the ground and fly through the long days of childhood. You look like you’re on fire with your brilliant red and orange leaves in the fall. You’re the first tree around to drop leaves in the ground much to the delight of all the neighborhood kids. Maple is the mother of all trees 🙂
