Skate with the Canucks
bySunLife Financial is providing the opportunity for fans young and old to skate with Vancouver Canucks (current and alumni) at Rogers Arena on January 14, 2012 — but you have to win your way in.
I’ve had the chance to skate at Rogers Arena, and even walk around a bit on the ice to film a promotional spot, but I’ve never skated with team members – how great would that be? You can win one of 25 spots through the Canucks contest and they have also saved room for one lucky Miss604 reader and up to three of their friends or family members. Here’s how you can enter to win a spot on the ice:
- Leave a comment on this post naming your favourite moment as a Canucks fan (1 entry)
- Post the following on Twitter (1 entry)
The Skate with the Canucks event takes place January 14th from 7:00pm to 8:15pm at Rogers Arena. Participants will be required to bring their own gear (rentals not available) and sign a release waiver before stepping onto the ice. I will draw one winner at 9:00am on December 28, 2011.
Official rules, except for dates that are exclusive to the Miss604 contest, may be found on the Canucks contest page. At least one member of the 2011-2012 Vancouver Canucks and Canucks Alumni will be on the ice at the event.
Update The winner is Amber!

Wow, this doesn’t sound terrifying at all. lol. Fav moment is probably just spending time with my friends watching the games at a pub! And hearing the cheers in the Westend everytime we score!
First Canucks game I went to when I was 12 against the Blackhawks in 1980
Watching the confetti rain down last year when we won the conference finals. Going all the way this year!!!
Watching Pavel Bure go end-to-end to score a goal against the Kings, when Gretzky played for LA, back in the Coliseum, with my family. Awesome.
of all the games i went too, ONE I will never forget, Trevor Linden’s final game as a Canuck… yes I actually cried a little as he skated around the rink touching is hand from his heart to the fans… best – game – ever.
My favorite moment was sprinting across downtown to win tickets last yer because I couldn’t affor to buy some for me and my boyfriend who have been fans since we were kids!
My fave moment? just partying in the streets after game 5 in the stanley cup final series. the last win we had, and the greatest time.
Favourite moment as a Canucks fan – sitting beside then veteran Canuck Fan (he looked like a Christmas Tree decoration) his last season before he passed away. Cheering and laughing together. It was amazing!
Fav moment was either Greg Adams or KB3’s goals that put the team into the finals in ’94 and 2010 respectively. Watched the first with my siblings and Dad and went nuts (15 at the time). Watched the second with my daughter (she’s 5) and we both went nuts again! Lots of family memories in the 2 runs.
When I was in Girl Guides around a decade ago, I got to be in a promotional photo for them that was in the Canucks dressing room with Steve Staois!
About 15 or 16 years ago at the Canucks Family Carnival… meeting (and hugging) Russ Courtnall and Martin Gelinas!
Best moment as a fan was when we won game 7 round one against blackhawks… I went from sad tears (couldnt control it) to happy! Most amazing feeling ever =)
My fave moment (s) is when Burrows “shoots to the sky” after scoring a goal in memory of his friend Luc Bourdon…always makes me smile. Its so sweet!
My most memorable Canucks moment is easily the game 7 OT winning goal against the Blackhawks by Alex Burrows during the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs. This is one of those moments that you always remember who you were with and where you were when it happened. I remember we all jumped up and down on the sofa when it happened. Picture a bunch of full grown adults doing that LOL!
Favorite Canucks moment – Alex Burrows overtime goal in Game 2 of the finals last year just beats out the Trevor Linden shoot out goal we witnessed during his last year. Both were unforgettable moments I shared with family.
Watching the playoffs last year!
Favorite memory is 94 bure’s goal in overtime against the flames
Meeting Dan Cloutier hehe.
Favorite Canucks moment – 2007 Playoffs, Round 1, Game 7 against the Dallas Stars, Trevor Linden scored the winning goal in the 3rd period! The stadium was electric!
Favorite moment.. so many to choose from its hard to pick just one. But I would say celebrating all the victories that the Cancuks accomplished last year!
I agree with Erica K – it was so sweet to get that Chicago monkey off our back in round one, game 7 last season!
Been at game 5 winning western conference final last year telling everyone JUICE JUST SCORED AHHHHHHHH WE ARE GOING TO THE FINAL!!! Best moment I my life brought my dad! 🙂
fave moment has to be the beating the blackhawks last yeart
Being at Game 7 of this year’s Stanley Cup Finals is the gr greatest thing I have ever experienced as a Canucks or hockey fan. Even though the outcome was unfavourable, just having the chance to be in that environment was once in a lifetime.(But hopefully not). No amount of money could have kept me from being there, and it didn’t.
watching them win against the hawks
This is so hard to pick i had lots of favorite moments as a Canuck fan but my favorite would have to be when I got to meet Christian Ehrhoff last season when he played for Vancouver he was so sweet and the rest of the team is amazing !!
Beating the Chicago Blackhawks in last year’s playoffs.
Seeing Trevor Linden in person.
Being in the streets after the Game 5 win this past year!
Being in downtown Vancouver when Alex Burrows scored the winning goal in OT against the Boston Bruins
It changes so often – so many great moments mentioned here. I’d have to say, though, that my current favorite moment is just recently, when Cody Hodgson was hurt and helped off the ice by Edler and Salo. They stepped away from the fight that could have erupted in favor of helping their teammate and getting their revenge within the confines of the game. It speaks to the integrity the Canucks play with, and the strong morals the organization fosters – so that’s my current favorite moment!
My favourite moment was meeting Burrows, and Game 7 vs the Chicago Blackhawks.
My favorite moment as a Canuck fan is watching my moms face light up everytime Luongo makes a beautiful save. She’s battled cancer since she was a baby and the Canucks bring happiness into her life. I am glad my mom has found Luongo as a crutch to getting by day after day. Thank you Luo, for making beautiful saves game after game to make my mom happy.
Finally beat Chicago in the Playoffs last year. Also Henrik,Ryan, Roberto, Corey winning the indivdual awards.
Favourite moment was being at the game where Linden’s #16 was hoisted to the rafters.
Alex Burrows OT Game 7 goal vs the Blackhawks to finally beat them
Winning game of the conference finals 2011. Celebrating with fellow Canucks fans in a bar in nyc.
Watching them go all the way to the finals last year. Yehhhh
Ive lots of fond memories as a Canuck fan. But the most memorable was when I was about 12 years old and met a young rookies named Stan Smyl. I was so impressed that he was wearing what all my friends were wearing at that time : jeans and a jean jacket. I thought he was so cool! And it also was the start of me wearing #12 in all my sports!
beating blackhawks at the playoffs
Game 7 OT Alex Burrows’ winner against the Blackhawks
Favorite moment as a Canuck? There’s way too many, How about 94’after game 6 in the Stanley Cup finals and hearing the Linden quote from Jim Robson “”BUT THERE WILL BE A GAME SEVEN…THEY’LL HOPE THAT THEY CAN GET LINDEN PATCHED UP FOR THAT ONE… HE WILL PLAY, YOU KNOW HE’LL PLAY… HE’LL PLAY ON CRUTCHES…HE WILL PLAY, AND HE WILL PLAY AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN ON TUESDAY NIGHT!!!!!” Or how About The sudden death goal in the playoffs against the Flames with Jovonovski screaming with excitement a few years back? Or just this year everything leading up to the Stanley Cup finals? Every moment watching these boys play on the ice is my favorite. No matter how different the team may be, and whatever players may play for the Canucks, this is the most beautiful team in the NHL. They represent our team with high hopes, dignity and integrity. It’s what we look forward to for the years to come and we will always be here waiting for the day we get to watch this team bring the Stanley Cup home.
Meeting Pavel Bure for the 1st time at a sports store autograph signing…I was able to get Bure to sign his rookie card for me in both his English & Russian versions of his autographs. When the others in line saw this, they asked the same, but the organizer quickly put an end to this double autographing. I like to think mine is an original!
Bieksa’s goal against SJ Sharks to get into the SCF is an eternal classic
My favorite moment was watching the run to the cup in 94 with my dad when I was 10 years old.
I am a new fan I guess you could say as I have only started watching every game 2 seasons ago. My boyfriend on the other hand is a die hard fan. My best memory doesn’t have to do with any game or player but a christmas gift. Last year I bought him a signed Bure jersey and when I seen the tears in his eyes it gave me the best feeling. I would love to be able to share another magical Canusks moment with him.
Watching the 1994 playoff run!
lots of awesome moment to choose from…current fave moment would have to be beating chicago last season! that was great!!! =D
Beating the blackhawks was pretty amazing!
My fave moment is when i went to a live game. I have only been a couple of times.
My fav moment had to be going to my first game, way up in the nosebleeds with a friend who hated hockey. I have never cheered so hard in my life! And now she’s been converted!
The picture of Kirk McLean and Trevor Linden in the ’94 cup run.
My favourite Canucks moment was the feeling of shock following Bieksa’s incredible slap shot winner to move the Canucks into the 2011 Stanley Cup final! I was actually one of the few people that saw him shoot! The confetti that fell from the ceiling, combined with the passion and invigoration that filled the arena that night was something I will never forget. It was a very powerful moment and something that will live on throughout Canucks history!
My Favorite moment happened over three months during are last playoff run. Burrows Goal to beat Chi, Bieska goal to send us to the finals. to many to name
Favourite moment… game 2 of Stanley Cup Finals, I was in the fan zone at CBC plaza. My friend was starving and she was really annoyed it went to overtime because she couldn’t get anything to eat. Then Burrows scored, we all jumped up, screaming. Her celebration cheer, “FOOOOOD.”
going downtown for game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals and roaming around the streets high fiving everyone
Watching Trevor Linden get drafted in 1988, and every time he stepped on the ice!
Bieksa’s goal against San Jose in
double OT at the conference finals.
My favourite moment was during high school and the `94 Cup Run. After we lost, my friends and I decided to go to the Fan Appreciation. We ran all the way down the ramp and to our seats at BC Place, wildly waved our white towels and screamed with joy.
Game 4 of the 2nd round of the 1994 playoffs versus the Dallas Stars. This is the only playoff game I’ve been to. The Canucks won, plus it was part of an epic season in the Canucks’ history.
I don’t have a particular favourite moment, but I love every time the Sedin twins make those magical passes on ice (which often lead to goals). I’m a twin myself and wish I had that kind of skill with my twin. Every time I watch them I’m in awe.
Favourite moment(s) – going to a game with my son and watching him mesmerized by the game and asking questions non stop. Reminds me of when I was young and went to games with my Dad.
My absolute favourite moment was when I went to a recent Van vs Calgary game (my first game)and proudly represented my Lapierre jersey. All my hopes came true that night…Higgins scored, Bieksa scored, Booth scored and Lapierre got into a very physical confrontation. Literally EVERYTHING I wanted to happen that night. We took the win and I slept great!
Beating the Blackhawks in Game 7. John Shorthouse’s “They Slayed the Dragon!” call will forever be ingrained in my head.
Beating the hawks in game 7 and juice scoring in game 5 vs the sharks!!
My favorite moment as a Canucks fan was probably Game 7 OT win over Chicago and hearing Shorthouse shout “THEY SLAYED THE DRAGON” And Jim Hughson was saying “Exhale British Columbia, The Canucks are on to Round 2, Nashville is next!” Also, the 2OT winner over the Sharks to send us to the SCF was amazing. Definitely memorable
My favourite moment is finally going to my first game a couple years ago. It was the last game in the season against the Flames, and we beat them 7-2. I remember Henrik was really close to getting the most points in the league for that season and Bieksa actually getting angry cause they couldn’t score from this one play just to get Henrik the point. I got tickets cause a family member felt pity cause I had never been to a game before as big as a fan as I was lol.
Taking in the exhilarating atmosphere of downtown Vancouver during the Stanley Cup finals last year. I watched Game 5 on Georgia Street with 3 of my best friends and will never forget it!
Favorite moment so far has definitely been Round 1, Game 7, Alex Burrows OT winning goal. I literally burst into tears as my family and I jumped around in joy.
My favorite moment as a Canucks fan was meeting Ryan Kesler.
Burrows scoring in overtime of game 7 of the chicago series in the 2011 playoffs!! But its also closely tied with seeing them at children’s hospital or Canuck place putting smiles on the faces of kids that need them most – love seeing that!!
My favourite Canucks moment was going downtown and watching the game. I got to feel the crowds enthusiasm and it was an awesome experience.
watching all the games with friends and family, and the partying downtown during the playoffs!
Meting members of the Canucks when I volunteered at Canuck Place…the smiles it brought to the children s faces was wonderful 🙂
My favorite memory is my first game (game 5 against chicago), And remembering that even though we lost the fans were still having fun!
It may not have been the best moment, but being on the other side of the world during round four last June, and having to stay up to watch until 3 am to watch the games – because there was no way I was missing it!
I would DIE to win this prize!!!
My favourite moment as a Canucks fan is every time that they step on the ice, or put on their gear, or visit the sick kids at the hospital, or get traded from another team. I moved to Vancouver 8 months ago and have cherished every minute I’ve lived here.
Go Canucks Go!!
My favorite moment is going to meet Alex Burrows with one of my best friends and her baby. My friend has proven to be the biggest Burrows fan in the world and to see her actually meet him was magic! She was so comically nervous and buzzing with excitement, a wreck, and I felt exactly the same, maybe even a little emabarssed. But Alex Burrows is so humble and down to earth, shaking his hand calmed me down. It certainly was memorable.
When I was young, I had the opportunity to hang out in the Canucks dressing room at Pacific Coluseum with Tiger Williams and Darcy Rota. Very cool for a young kid to see that these great guys were human too
Maybe this brings up bad memories for some, but my favourite moment as Canucks fan was coming downtown the day after the riots and adding my thanks to the Wall at the Bay. Just talking to the countless people adding messages alongside me, and watching people clean up the city that morning…I’ll never forget it. Really wonderful to see the overwhelmingly positive spirit of the people, supporting their team and city in any way they could. It brought the city together. As the Sun headline said, the city bared it’s soul that day.
My favourite moment was Burrows scoring the overtime goal in Game 7 against the Hawks.
My favorite moment as a Canucks fan was when I got all dressed up in blue and green and went to one game of each round and ended up on TV AND on the Canucks website!!! 🙂
My favourite moment was being at game five of the Stanley Cup finals. It was my first live NHL game and the atmosphere was unbelievable. Complete strangers gave bone-crushing hugs and high gives after Max Lappiere score that goal, and the celebrations continued all the way back home. Skating with members of the team would be such an amazing experience. Skating with such passionate and determined men who give their all would so rewarding and really open your eyes on what chasing your dreams means.
Campoli trying to clear it Burrows shoots,SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely the Kesler bombs! Yes, the Cup Finals in 94 and 2011 were an amazing thing to watch, but the Kesler bombs were EPIC!
My favourite moment was watching Brendan Morrison scoring the game winning goal in triple overtime, a few years ago in game 6 to force a game 7 against the Calgary Flames.
My favorite moment has got to be when Kevin Bieksa scored the goal to send us to the Stanley Cup finals. No one knew what happened, not even the team. We just knew we were headed to the cup. Bieksa was the only one who spotted the puck. A moment of true disbelief at what just transpired. Tears were shed, hugs were aplenty. I still pinch myself watching the goal on youtube.
Burrows’ game 7 goal against the Blackhawks this year!
When the Canucks beat the Blackhawks in game 7 last year! We’ll get em this year again boys!
Definately watching Burrows score the game winner in game 7 against the Blackhawks! The celebration on the ice was a moment I will never forget. The celebration by the fans around town was an experience words will not describe. It was a event that gathered strangers together to celebrate a common love we all have – the Canucks!
Too many to choose from, but game 6 of the 1994 Stanley Cup finals still stands out. One of the greatest games I can remember.
My favorite moment as a Canucks fan would have to be the 2011 playoff run. I really enjoyed watching all the games. Whether it be on television, downtown with thousands of fellow fans, or the opportunity I had to go to one of the games. Seeing the way the entire city of Vancouver, as well as the surrounding cities, all pitched in to help clean up after the riot has to be my absolute most favorite moment as a Canuck fan – It really makes me proud of this city, our team, and the fan base. I am so grateful that I am a fan of this team, and have all these amazing fellow fans to share it with.
My favorite moment as a Canuck fan was screaming and cheering with my friend after Bieksa scored the double overtime goal in game 5 to send the Canucks to the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. I also liked Kesler’s photo for ESPN magazine.
Seeing trevor linden around town.
Watching Bieksa’s goal in game seven of the sharks game
Going to watch my first live playoff game (game 5 of the finals last year) and going to sleep that night with ringing ears because of how loud it was at Roger’s arena
The 1994 run
Slaying the Dragon: Cup run 2011.
Watching the Stanley Cup with my daughters was a lot a fun!
I enjoy watching the playoffs – I am a new fan, so don’t really have one special moment (yet!)
I don’t have any one hockey moment – except that it is something I do with my dad and we love it!
A lot of fave Canucks moments, but game 7 of the ’94 finals, with just me and my love watching curled up on the couch was very cool!
Going to my first Canucks’ Game was a big thrill.
I’m a new Canucks fan thanks to my boyfriend, but I love seeing how the team can bring together the whole city.
Seeing the awesome work many of the Canucks players do off the ice for initiatives like Canuck Place and Ronald McDonald House!! Would love a chance to skate with them.
My favorite canucks moment was giving my nephew tickets to his 1st Canucks game for his 13th birthday!
My favorite Canuck was taking my nephew Matthew to his 1st Canuck game.
Normally I would say watching the ’94 Game 7 from the Pacific Coliseum, but now that my daughter has started playing hockey, I would have to say watching the cup run with her earlier this year is my new favourite moment.
If we win this contest, it would be her that skates with the Canucks!
Watching the Sedin twins work in tandem
My favourite moment as a Canucks fan was when I was at the HP store downtown and randomly won a printer pulled by Trevor Linden! Also my other fav moment as a Canucks fan was watching the games downtown during the playoffs
I was at the Game 7 overtime win vs. Chicago last year. I’ve never heard anything like the mayhem and excitement that ensued!

Taking my 5yr old to the Canucks/Sens game on his 5th birthday. I’m from Ottawa. It was a great night!
Favorite Canucks moment:
Harold Drukens overtime winner vs. the kings at the end of the 2001 season to put the Canucks in to the playoffs.
Twitter: cody_rob1nson
Have never gone to a Canucks game but would love to. My favorite moment as a fan however, was when my son did a Cops for Cancer Ad with Trevor Linden. That was truly a highlight!
My favorite Canuck moment was when I was 5 years old and my brother’s hockey coach (John Wilde) brought one of his friends (Stan Smyl) to an Atom Minor hockey practice. I was so excited that I ran to open the door that lead to the ice for the team. I was so small that you could not see me throught the window. As the boys pushed open the door I went flying and hit the wall. All I remember is Stan Smyl picking me up and asking my dad if he could take me for a skate around the rink. Of course as soon as he asked that I stopped crying, I was in awe…
A few years later my brother went to a Stan Smyl training camp. I took the picture of me in Stan Smyl’s arms to have Stan Smyl autograph it and the best part of all he remembered the incident!! This is only one of many memories that I have but by far the best one!! I have been a Canucks Fan for as long as I can remember!! This is our year!
My favourite Canuck moment would have to be game 7 of the stanley cup final last year. We did lose yes, but I have never been more excited about a hockey game ever before.
Definitely the moment I heard that Trevor Linden was returning to the Canucks!
My fav moment was when I stepped foot into Canuck Place a couple of years ago, to deliver her gift to Canuck Place. She had asked her friends to make a donation to CP in lieu of a birthday gift. Just knowing that our Canucks does such wonderful work with Canuck Place is enogh for us to cheer on our team.
Hands down- Burrows overtime goal against Chicago playoffs 2011. Sooo exciting!!
Sorry,.i should have said it was my daughter’s birthday gift to Canuck Place.:)
my favorite memory is definatly the 2011 cup run. What a year.
My favourite Canuck moment was when I stepped foot into Canuck Place with my daughter and husband. We were there to deliver my daughter’s gift to Canuck Place (she had asked her friends to make a donation to C.P. as instead of giving her gifts). May daughter is a GREAT fan of the Canucks (she’s turning 16 next week!)
Knowing that our CANUCKS do such wonderful work with C.P. makes me proud to cheer on our team. The Canucks are such a great example for all of us. I have never been to an actual Canucks game, but it is enough just know that the team consists of amazing people!
When Vancouver beat Chicago in the 2011 playoffs!!!
Finally got a chance to go to a game at the Arena for the season opener against Pittsburgh this year. Even though we were beaten in the shootout, it was so amazing to get lost in the sea of blue. This city’s fans are awesome.
burrows game seven winner!!!
Pavel Bure’s double overtime goal in game seven during the first round of the playoffs in 1994 vs Calgary
My dad loved hockey and I was able to take him to his first Canucks game before he passed away… That was almost 20 years ago and I remember we had the cheapest seats way up in the nose bleeds .. I was still honored to take him even though he said he was scared of heights and would have rather watched the game on TV … Shucks – Who knew … Love ya dad!!
My face moment was when Burrows scored the OT winner against the Hawks in game 7. It was a proud moment for me as a cancuks fan. I cheered and screamed my heart out!
Going to my first ever game. Canucks vs preds. The debut of the green man!
My favourite ‘moment’ is after each Canuck game, when I swap Canuck highlights with my parents who are watching all winter from Pueto Vallarta, Mexico with a pub full of fellow Cdns.
Game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals vs Boston … Raffi Torres scores with approx 18 seconds and the Vancouver Canucks win … Me, my friend and the entire rink went CRAZY !!!
http://flic.kr/p/9QPDmG
Burrow’s OT winning goal against the blackhawks in game 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As much as I have so much great moments with the canucks like Bure scoring the over time winner in the playoffs ,Greg Adams getting the overtime winner to advance in the playoffs to the finals or the Canucks fighting to get to the finals last year.I have to say my all time canuck moment was last year, when my 11 year old daughter worked all weekend in a tournament to raise money ,through her tips. She managed to raise $400 dollars ,and instead of spending it on herself she insisted in donateing it to the canucks for kids fund.It made me so proud to be her father and a fan of the canucks ,that tops anything I have seen
My favorite moment has to be when Burrows hit the OT winter against the Blackhawks last post season! also one of my all time favorite moments was when Manny Malhotra returned in game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals!
Going to a playoff game and waving the white towel with thousands of other fans!
I would have to say the 1994 stanley cup finals!! Me and my siblings made a big huge sign and stood on the street waving it!!
My favorite moments are every game watching Canucks #1 fan, my son, watch every Canucks game on TV. He watches and cheers like he’s sitting rink side with other fans. He not only watch but coaches the players too. He only 13, turning 14 on Dec 3O. 5yrs ago we went to Edmonton Mall. He walked into a store selling Edmonton Oilers jersey’s and asked for Vancouver Canucks jersey. Then continued to argue there with staff why Canucks were better then Oilers. Lol
When we finally beat the Chicago Blackhawks last year in the Playoffs.
I’ve been a fan since I was three, so there’s quite a lot of memories to choose from. But I think I have to put Burr’s game-7 winner against the Hawks last playoffs. I was so completely nervous the entire game and I could not have been more happier nor relieved when Burr snatched that puck out of the air and snapped it into the back of the net!
I’m new to Canada but my favorite Canucks moment was on February 28, 2011 whcn we traded for Maxim LaPierre <3
My favorite moment was watching my husband and daughter enjoying the playoff TOGETHER!!!!
Watching a playoff game on my cousin’s laptop in a Chinese restaurant where we were celebrating my grandpa’s 91st birthday!
The first time Pavel Bure flew down the ice… he made everyone else look like they were standing still. Still my vote for greatest Canuck ever.
This would be a dream come true for my little brother! Seriously, he’s their biggest fan.
Watching their 2011 play off run! Especially when bieska shot the winning goal 🙂
When my son got to meet Fin and then ride around on the zamboni. He took his Grandma with him, and judging by the picture they brought home for me, it looks like they had an amazing time. I wish I’d been able to go with them. 😀
Partying and cheering with thousands of other Canuck fans either in pubs, on the street, with my friends, or even in my own living room. Always will be a Canucks fan!
last year the stanley cup playoffs…it was amazing….
All of 1994.
Among the many fond moments I have had as a Canucks fan was my first ever live hockey game in high school. I had a massive crush on a guy who invited me to the Canucks vs. Wild match for my birthday… The Canucks scored a victory and my crush and I ended up on the JumboTron. Enough to melt any teenaged girl’s heart. 🙂
Kirk McLean & Trevor Linden embrace in ’94
When the Canucks slayed the dragon
My favorite moment as a Canucks fan is watching my five year old nephew put on his goalie pads and jersey before every Canucks game, just in case they need him as the back-up to Schneider! His goal in hid five year old life is to be Roberto Luongo!
Favourite moment: Last stanley cup when we scored. I was at a restaurant at the time and one man jumped booth to booth over top of the dividers! no one cared they were all too busy celebrating.
Screaming and high-fives with friends and cousins after Burrow’s goal in Game 7
Watching the last Chicago game during the playoffs last year with friends. Totally on edge the whole game!
Stanley Cup finals!
So many great memories, but in general, watching the 2011 playoff run with my kids, especially my son, who is an AVID fan. Will never forget the Canuck fever in the house!
My favorite moment as a Canucks fan was going to my first game on March 1,2011. The feeling I get during Canucks games are just undescribable 🙂
Watching my first Canucks playoff in ’94 with my family & making huge banners to put up on our windows to show love & support. keep believing!! Go Canucks Go!!
My favourite moment would have to be just witnessing the Canucks make it to the Stanley Cup finals. Although we didn’t win, I’m happy to be living in a great city with an even greater (and the best) NHL team 😀
Attending my very first Canucks game. It was just a regular season game, but that experience got me hooked!
Watching the Canucks and New York Islanders duke it out in the ’82 Stanley Cup final on our little black and white.
When Burrows being Burrows scored that clutch Game 7 overtime goal against the Hawks to finally slay the dragons!
Meeting Aaron Rome 🙂
My favorite moment was when they were doing an interview in the locker room with Schneider and Ryan Kesler bombed the interview by moving in and wearing Schneider’s helmet. I laughed hysterically… It really shows that they have great team spirit and get along…
Beating the blackhawks last year!! Go Canucks Go!!
When Pavel Bure scored that breakaway goal in the 94 playoffs against the Rangers. I’ll never forget that!
Not sure how I can pick a fave Canuck moment – there are so many. I guess I will go with Burrows’ overtime goal against Chicago in the playoffs last semester.
Meeting Orland Kurtenbach in 1995 in Richmond, BC.
Roger Nelson and the white towel wave.
Other than watching the team play live, it would have to be after the games when Kesler photo bombs interviews
Best moment would have to be game 7 against the Blackhawks last year.
Favourite moment to date is being at game 7 of the Chicago series last season with my boyfriend who is a huge fan. Am entering this contest on his behalf for his birthday which is on the 28th.
My favourite Canuck moment was the last seasons Stanley Cup run. What an exciting time to be a fan!
My favourite Canuck moment was after we lost the Stanley Cup – I was in Kits and saw an angry fan knock over a newspaper box outside the pub where I had been watching. Then two teenage boys in Canucks jerseys followed behind him and set the box back up! Canuck spirit all the way!
My favourite Canucks moment wasn’t necessarily a specific canucks game, but it was meeting Kevin Bieksa and Alex Burrows at Phat Yaletown, and getting a hoodie signed for my husband’s 93 year old grandmother, and they were the nicest people. It reminded me, and let me know that the Canucks are regular people with a genuine interest and appreciation for their fans and our awesome city.
I’m a newbie to all the Canucks mania. I enjoyed the long drawn, emotional roller-coaster ride to the Stanley Cup finals last year. We watched the second last game downtown with a room full of strangers. It was so nice to hear everyone groan and cheer for the same team. Walking the streets after winning the game was something special too. The passion, joy, pride and friendliness was unbelievable. Honourable mention – Kevin Bieksa’s goal that sent us to the Stanley Cup finals.
Meeting my favorite Canuck Kevin Bieksa!!
Probably the game 7 win against Chicago in last year’s playoffs. What an amazing moment for Canucks fans!
Just being downtown and seeing all the support for the Canucks. So amazing.
My favourite moment as Canucks fan was game 1 of the nashville series!
mclean stacks the pads against calgary in 94
Favorite moment was winning game 7 in the Playoffs last year against the Blackhawks! Felt so good to beat that team, finally! We were all dancing around the living room singing our version of the Chicago goal song 🙂
Going to my first ever NHL game in Vancouver and seeing the Canucks.
’94 and ’11 Stanley cup runs
My favourite Canucks memory comes from the 1994 playoff run. I was fortunate to be visiting Toronto with my Mom when I was 9 years old and even more fortunate to be staying in the same hotel as my favourite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks. I met Pat Quinn, Tim Hunter and Murray Craven. Pat Quinn asked me to hold his notebook while he signed my Canucks flag – what a gentleman and what a Cup Run!
Favorite Canucks moment has to be taking my son (4 years old at the time) to his very first canucks game. He is now almost 7 and a big Canucks fan and lives, dreams, sleeps hockey 🙂
Favorite moment was when my two boys (6&8)opened up there christmas presents each with a canuks jersey, and draged dad out to the front street to play against our cousins from Calgary and Edmonton.
Though I have never been to a Canucks before in my life, I do Remember the first time I went to Rogers arena. This October, I convinved my dad to take me to meet some friends at an open practice. I was so stoked! I went there straight from my 7:30 am hockey practice. I’ll never forget the feeling I had as I walked through those doors. My heart was pounding with excitement. My friends had saved me a seat right in the front row, they didnt seem to mind that I smelled like hockey gear that I forgot to air out 😛 It was the first time I had ever sat in a seat there. I was so happy I couldn’t stop smiling. The players came on the ice and started skating laps. I will never forget the 6 seconds I had eye contact with Kevin Bieksa. Yes, I know, I’m a loser but it was a big moment for me!! I was freaking out and my friends looked at me like I was crazy!! After the training camp was over, my friends and I headed out to the back to see the players leaving in their cars. First we saw Henrik Sedin who had Max Lapierre in his car with him. Then we saw Luongo who speeded past a red light. Then we saw Dan hamhuis who flashed us a smile and wave from his Truck. Then, Kevin Bieksa came out. He drove slowly and stopped to sign things for his fans. Unfourtinatley, I had nothing for him to sign so I screamed HI KEVIN and he said hi back. It was probably one of the most amazing days of my life. 🙂
Watching the canucks win the conference finals!!
