Bake for the Quake
byOrganized by two local food bloggers, Melody (GourmetFury.com) and Joy (Gourmeted.com), Bake for the Quake aims to raise $5,000 for Doctors Without Borders and relief efforts in Japan.
What: Bake for the Quake
When: April 20, 2011 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Where: Roundhouse Community Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews, Yaletown)
There will be entertainment by Artinair and Kristie Yung, prizes for attendees, and of course baked creations from over a dozen Vancouver-area bakers and bake shops.
There is no admission charge but attendees are encouraged to bring cash (only) to purchase the baked goods and make donations to the cause. Also, be sure to bring along a re-usable cloth bag or container so that you can transport the cupcakes, cookies, and other treats that you purchase.
If you are unable to attend you can still contribute through their online donation page.

I have asked the following popular people who are working in Vancouver for Television shows by Twitter to publish the event Bake for the Quake to their followers. Even though its a local event, would not hurt to spread the word.
Good luck with the event!

Loved the Bake for the Quake event last night and hope you raised a lot of money. Great fundraiser. Just wondered where to find the winning raffle ticket numbers. Thanks, Colleen
Thank you! I went there last night it was crazy! I had to wait 45 minutes in the line up to finally get in, and spent for $70 in yummy baked goods. Most of my money went for canneles de bordeaux and earl grey macaroons at *french made baking* and I am so excited I finally found a place to get canneles! thank you so much again for that!
It was a seriously awesome event and packed full of people who wanted to grab decadant confections for a good cause! Props go to the organizers, volunteers and sponsors! Photos should be up on http://www.mananetwork.net shortly!
