Lotus Awards: Meet the Judges Mingler
byTonight the Lotus Awards hosted a networking event to introduce their judges. They are: Michael Borosky from Eleven, Tyson Damman from Big Spaceship, Christian DaBica from Jager Di Paola Kemp and the guys (Craig Allen and Eric Kallman from Widen + Kennedy) that gave us the legendary social media campaign; Old Spice’s The Man Your Man Could Smell Like.
Many of Vancouver’s top advertising, marketing, and communications agencies were in attendance to chat with the judges and network.
I know that in the age of TiVo and torrents, TV commercials aren’t as viewed as they once were. However, there are social media campaigns, digital marketing, and many more innovative ways that commercialism seeps into our lives. It’s all around us online, on the street, and on transit. Sometimes, they can even be entertaining.
The Lotus Awards for excellence in advertising in BC have been around since 1989. In recent years they have included design, interactive, and social media campaigns to their categories and list of considered works. The actual awards ceremony will take place November 11, 2010.
