I must heartily recommend the Annual Top Ten Endangered Sites Release and Bus Tour; it may be a mouthful, but it is a super excellent tour, and really reveals the local treasures around us. I went in 2006 and it was super (for photos, see my web link) Everyone, go!
I totally glossed over the fact that the bus tour is already sold out; the recommendation still stands, however! Create a calendar reminder for yourself next year, and get tix early!
Furthermore, I cannot begin to tell you how significant it is to be able to get a sneak peak of the penthouse of the Marine building! This is a very historic event, and one that does not come along often! I recommend it too!!! (first time in the 5 years I’ve been here!)
If you prefer the free stuff, an reminder:
@VanHeritage presents the opening of the inaugural exhibit at THE WALL at @CBCVancouver Plaza Apr 15, 6-8pm (again, see my web link)
Also, keep the date for Heritage Vancouver’s inaugural ‘Heritage & the Arts’ Long Table Social on Saturday April 24. An affordable $15 will secure your ticket for this unique experience in an incredible heritage building .. get a sneak peak of the restoration and enjoy a tasting menu of great films, fuzz-rock acoustics, never seen before performances & visual art. Join the Long Table with local actors & film-makrs, conceptual artists, writers, journalists, designers, local business owners, politicians & others in the community. http://www.heritagevancouver.org
Ooops! The Top Ten Endangered sites listed above was from 2009 – the 2010 sites will be posted after our April tour.
