Delta Whistler Village Suites
byThis weekend we drove 90 minutes north of Vancouver to take in a weekend in Whistler. Thanks to the Delta Whistler Village Suites, we had a comfortable, roomy, well-equipped suite for two nights.
Our room had ample closet space, a kitchen (with dishwasher), living room, balcony (with a great view), bedroom (king size bed), bathroom, and full washer & dryer for doing laundry. I can totally see us coming up in the winter and warming up in a suite like this, while tossing our gloves in the dryer to heat them up and soak off the snow.
I’ve stayed at the Delta Ocean Pointe in Victoria several times over the last few years and I noticed a recurring theme with Delta hotels — the staff is always very pleasant and helpful. We were provided with a complete itinerary of activities during our visit and even on the hotel’s main website, they highlight alpine walks, golf, dining options, and seasonal activities.
Within the hotel there was a restaurant (which I’ll include in a review later on), a health club, a pool, ample underground parking, conference space and the Solarice Spa. John and I both had spa treatments on Friday afternoon, and I enjoyed a relaxing facial. I’ve had about five different facials this year from day spas to resorts and each is unique. At Solarice I was asked my preference — did I want a more clinical facial with “extractions” and the like or did I just want to feel amazingly rejuvenated. I opted for the latter and came out glowing. I also became a big fan of the Eminence Organics products that were used, such as the pink grapefruit clarifying mask.
I really enjoyed the location of the Delta as it was on the outer perimeter of the Village, where it was a bit quieter. Often the Village can feel like Robson Street on a sunny Saturday afternoon, packed with tourists, shoppers, bikes, dogs, and just a sea of pedestrian traffic. These things most definitely add to the ambiance however with all of the events going on this weekend it was nice to just relax a bit and take things slow.
Back in our room, we enjoyed watching programs at night on one of the two flat panel LCD televisions while sipping BC wine and uploading photos using the super-fast internet connection. The room seemed ideal for a longer stay (which I really wish would have been the case this weekend) but we’ll be sure to check back again in the future.
Disclosure: We were invited to Whistler by the Delta Whistler Village Suites. These are our impressions of the room which was covered for us. Sponsored or paid posts are tagged “Advertisement“. I was not paid to write this post.
