WordPress Plugins That Don't Work with 2.5.1
byLittle by little I’m discovering that some of my favourite plugins I’ve come to know, love, and depend upon to make my daily blogging life that much easier are pretty much… toast.
By way of Lorelle I also hear there are problems with the Automatic Update for Plugins in WP 2.5 so I need to make sure to stay on top of these things (from the WP Admin as well as the individual plugin side).
I rely heavily on plugins so discovering a new one each day that hasn’t been working then back tracking through dozens of posts isn’t too pleasant. However, I should have been more diligent after upgrading, and I’m pretty confident that these will all be upgraded soon enough. I just have to stop kicking myself for not checking in on these things sooner.
For a full list of what WordPress has determined as working or not so far, check out the almighty codex, it will be sure to save you a few headaches.

Autometa hooks into the document save action, and it appears that the first thing 2.5 does is save a blank document, so the tags are generated off a blank document, and thus, no tags. Thereafter, AutoMeta purposefully doesn’t replace these tags, in case you’ve manually “finished” them. So to generate tags, just delete the autometa field and it should magically reappear with tags, when you next save the document.
You would be proud of me, oh blogging Jedi Master… I *have* read part of the WordPress codex 🙂 hehehe
My links are still not clean. But whatever… we’ll see what happens.
WordTwit works fine on 2.5.1 -> I’ve been running it for ages. It might be misconfigured, or somehow broken on your install, but it’s definitely not incompatible with the release.
My DivShare plugin seems to have gone caput with the upgrade too….and I am having a terrible time uploading photos now..ick
