I completely forgot to blog about the Canucks Super Skills as it’s a great, cheap and fun activity that happens every year at GM Place. Our favourite players take to the ice in a competition of speed and accuracy. It’s always a low-dough event and extremely fun for the kiddies.
Unfortunately John (who had got me tickets by surprise) thought it was NEXT Saturday so discovering we actually had to go today threw a wrench in our plans. It was a nice and entertaining wrench, nonetheless.
John was able to take some GREAT shots with his new camera and I hopped on some top secret wifi at GM Place and uploaded photos on the fly to Flickr from my iPhone.

Side note: I was fully prepared to let John purchase a women’s jersey for me today (for my upcoming birthday) but we walked away empty-handed. Here’s what’s wrong with the “selection” at Authentix: 1) NHL jerseys shouldn’t sparkle 2) NHL jerseys are not pink 3) Please supply the “skate” jersey in women’s sizes 4) Please supply women’s sizes that actually fit women with boobs. Thanks.

Authentix also needs to realize little BOYS of 7 mos of age would like to wear the blue and green. There is NOTHING for young, young kids.
The Canucks make money hand over fist. Honestly, they could make it hand over fist over thigh over head, if they actually thought a little bit about who their market is, what they need and get it to them.
The selection of merch sucks. End of discussion.
I would also like to know why BC Ferries is spending money to advertise in the rink. Why are they buying the bubble underneath the scoreboard? Is there another boating choice to get to Van Isle that I don’t know about?

I noticed that they advertised under the scoreboard to. Can you even see that from the upper bowl? There are other ways of getting to the island but you got pay a weeee bit more for it 😉
Looks like it was a lot of fun. I’m still looking to score tickets this year to at least one day this season. Every time I’ve gone to a game the Canucks have always won. I’m good luck I guess 😉
i was wondering why there were so many canucks jerseys on the skytrain yesterday. i kept getting looks for my oilers hat. i bet they were looks of jealousy.
I have all the same gripes about jerseys. What’s a girl supposed to do? I refuse to wear any Canucks merchandise that is pink or sparkles. Lame.
The jersey thing pisses me off! I don’t want a pink one?!? I also don’t want to squish my chest into some flat thing. Bleah. They can do better.
