Blogathon 2009 – Sunset in Gastown
byPost #32 of #49 – Over the next 24 hours I will be raising funds for the Union Gospel Mission during Blogathon 2009 by writing a blog post every 30 minutes. Please consider donating to my cause to keep my going until 6am PT July 26th.
As the lightning shifted across the sky, the grey wall of cloud surrounding the North Shore transformed the heavens into a milky orange hue. The sun began to set in Vancouver.
We hopped outside to capture some of the brilliant colours that drenched the sky and we weren’t the only ones who were captivated.

Wow. That looks like there’s fire coming over the mountains!
Rebecca, those photos are AMAZING. We just had the most spectacular sunset here in Sooke as well. Thanks for sharing!
that was one of the most incredible sunsets i’ve seen in a long while, even though we’re quite used to fantastic sights. actually, when we were in hawaii, i was only mildly impressed with the sunsets there – just too spoiled by the ones we have here 🙂
Excellent pics, Rebecca. Really top-notch.
Wow!!!!
“When the lightning stopped,” …
It stopped? It was still going all through the fireworks tonight (actually complemented them nicely). I’ve never seen a lightning storm keep going and going like that here.
I tried to get a photo of the sunset, but only had my phone camera, so it didn’t turn out that well. Glad to see someone got some great shots!
We saw the wonders of Mother Nature in full force tonight. Hubby Markus and I were at the Bard on the Beach Fireworks BBQ tonight and got drenched! Mother Nature’s fireworks sure outshone South Africa tonight!
