One of my favourite experiences last winter was snowshoeing through the Ancient Forest in Prince George and while I have yet to do this activity closer to home, I always hear people rave about the opportunities on the North Shore.
Cypress Mountain offers a variety of snowshoeing experiences including the 4-hour Snowshoe Fondue Tour. Lead by an experienced guide, on this tour you will make your way through snow-dusted woods and sub-alpine meadows.
After working up an appetite, retire to Hollyburn Lodge to enjoy a mug of creamy hot chocolate or steaming spiced apple cider. Warm beverages are followed by a full fondue meal with salad and a cheese fondue with bread, steamed vegetables, and roast garlic potatoes. This is topped off with dessert consisting of a decadent chocolate fondue with fresh fruit and Angel Food cake.
The 4-hour snowshoe fondue experience operates Sunday through Friday at 6:00pm (pre-booking is required). The $80 admission includes rentals, trail ticket, guide, meal and gratuities.
If you would like to try this tour yourself, I have two vouchers to give away to two Miss604 readers and their guests (four vouchers in total). Here’s how you can enter to win:
I will draw two winners at random from all entries on January 13th, 2011 at
12:00 4:00pm. Value of the prize is $160 for each of the two winners (this includes admission for the winner and their guest).
Update The winners are Janis and @Sandra516 – have a great time in the snow!
