A few weeks ago John and I were the guests of the Westin in Whistler. This was our first time staying at the Westin but it came highly recommended by my sister. Located at the base of the mountain and directly connected to the village, the Westin’s location and cozy snow-capped lodge feeling provided an idyllic start to our holiday season.
The lobby itself is grand, with a giant Christmas tree welcoming travelers into the cozy resort — even four-legged friends can enjoy a dog treat from a bowl near the elevators. Aubergine and the Firerock Lounge offer up delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and drinks for guests and visitors alike, while the concourse shops leading out to the village are great for browsing.
John and I spent little time in our room since our itinerary was packed with activities such as a Whistler Tasting Tour, snowmobiling, a trip to the Scandinave Spa, and a behind the scenes tour of the Westin’s banquet facilities. We did so much that weekend and didn’t even hit the powdery slopes. However, when we did get some downtime we sat by the fire in our room and enjoyed the view.
The Westin has offered up a Whistler experience to one of my readers, that would include two night’s accommodation in a one bedroom suite at their 4-diamond resort (value $800).
They also have a very handy shuttle service by hybrid vehicle that can whisk my winner and their guest to and from the Scandinave Spa, a relaxing and rejuvenating experience like no other on the West Coast. Spend hours in their eucalyptus steam room, dipping into hot outdoor pools, and relaxing by a cracking fireplace on the side of a snow-capped mountain.
Here’s how you can enter to win two nights at the Westin and two day passes for Scandinave:
I will draw one winner on Monday, December 20th, 2010.
Update The winner is…. Tony Bradner!
