Comments 43 by Rebecca Bollwitt

Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada returns February 12, 2011 as the hockey nation sets up in Whitehorse. The Vancouver Giants and Kamloops Blazers will face-off live while the CBC hosts an all-Canadian NHL triple header.

Scotiabank The Big SaveIn order to engage families, teams, players, and fans from coast to coast, Scotiabank is also presenting the Big Save Contest where they will send one financially-conscious community hockey team to Whitehorse to enjoy Hockey Day festivities.

Teams (ages 7-16) can enter online by stating how much they team would like to save, and what they are saving for. This can be anything from equipment to ice time. The winning team will be chosen to fly to Whitehorse for Canada’s ultimate hockey celebration February 12, 2011.

The deadline to enter is November 30th so if you know of a local team that has been saving up and fundraising, encourage them to enter today. Savings tips are also available for online reference.

To promote the Big Save, Scotiabank has offered up five prize packs to my readers.

Our large van costs so much money to drive…so we bought a small car for errands and such that we have saved money in gas. The car has paid for itself and then some. Now we have extra money for family stuff because we are not pouring it into our gas sucking van lol
