It’s a Wonderful Life at The Arts Club, Win Tickets
byThe Arts Club is presenting three holiday shows this season including the return of It’s a Wonderful Life at the Granville Island Stage, on now until January 2nd, 2011.
I saw this production in 2008 and it was as charming as the old black and white film by Frank Capra but with colourful costumes and vivid emotions. There’s nothing like taking in a night of theatre in Vancouver and with the snow outside, this holiday-themed production is sure to warm your heart.
Tickets start at $29 and you can also arrive early for a bite to eat at the Backstage Lounge, which offers a discount for theatre-goers on the night of their show. If you would like to see It’s a Wonderful Life this season, here’s how you can enter to win a pair of tickets:
I will draw one winner from all entries on December 6th at 12:00pm. The winner will get two tickets to the performance on Friday, December 10th.
Update The winner is Jeff, have a great time at the show!

Well, it goes without saying that every year I have to see It’s a Wonderful Life. It is such an uplifting movie.
It’s a Wonderful Life of course!

Mine would be Home Alone, just plain hilarious!
home alone is the traditional christmas movie in our household =)

‘It’s a wonderful life’ without question! I love Christmas and there are quite a few festive movies that I love to watch over the season but Christmas morning is not the same without ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
My fav is the classic “Grinch” and then”Bad Santa” so seeing a heartwarming classic like “It’s a Wonderful Life” would do me some good!
season’s greetings!
Does a Charlie Brown Christmas count? If so, that’s my vote. Or maybe the Garfield Christmas special.
Favourite movie during Christmas is Love Actually!
It’s a toss up between Christmas Vacation and Elf 🙂
Oooooh that’s a tough one – I say it’s a tie between Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story! Both must be watched every year or else it’s just not Christmas 🙂
I’d have not to be too original and say … It’s a wonderful life !
I watch it every Xmas, it’s a tradition.
Jimmy Stewart is the best
every year – i watch 2 versions of the same movie… Miracle on 34th Street! Today – was the original… just in time for American Thanksgiving… they had the Macy’s Christmas parade…. in a few weeks – i’ll watch the newer version! Love it! If it can convince me to believe… surely it must be! right? lol
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
I’ve never actually seen it’s a wonderful life in it’s entirety. I have quite a few Christmas classics in my DVD collection but this is not one of them. I’m thinking perhaps I should pick it up.
I LOVE Home Alone…. Its a MUST WATCH during the Holiday Season. Nothing like getting warm and cozy to Joe Pesci Voice and an IRON on the face of the bad guys….. Christmas Classic!
XOXO
Yours Truly
the Holiday starring Jude Law
I would have to say I love Christmas!!! To pick one is difficult but I would have to say that I never get tired of watching- A Christmas Story. This movie is heartwarming, funny, and nostalgic. It’s also a great family movie that everyone can relate to.
Every Christmas Eve my family and I watch Alister Sims in A Christmas Carol… even if we have had our regular night before Christmas argument we will ALWAYS sit and watch it. Pretty funny actually 😀
A Christmas Story. Good ol’ Ralphie and his BB gun!
my favourite is It`s a Wonderful life and I would love to see it live
The newer version of It’s a Wonderful Life!
Rudolph!
Every Christmas I watch three movies:
Holiday Inn – where Bing Crosby sings White Christmas
Love Actually – to watch Hugh Grant’s booty dance, and the scene where the guy confesses his love via cards to Keira Knightly,
The Family Stone – to see how tight a family can be around one amazing mother
Meet Me in St. Louis, although not strictly a Christmas movie, for the classic “Have yourself a merry little Christmas”. And of course, It’s A Wonderful Life.
Favourite Christmastime movie… Has to be Love Actually. It’s not exactly a Christmas movie, but it’s my all time favourite. Unfortunately, I haven’t ever seen It’s a Wonderful Life so I can’t say that’s my favourite!

My fav xmas movie is The Christmas Story. There are just so many classic moments in that movie! The Dad is just way too awesome.
Our family loves Christmas Vacation—have watched it every year since it came out and we STILL find some new funny detail to laugh at that we’ve never noticed before. I’d actually love to have “Cousin Eddy” over for Christmas…
Love Actually! I watch it every Christmas with somebody that hasn’t seen it yet 🙂

A Christmas Carol
I just have to see White Christmas every year. Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas if I didn’t get to enjoy this movie once again.
Miracle on 34th Street. It’s a classic.
It might be wrong to respond with any movie other than “It’s a Wonderful Life” but I have to say my favourite Christmas movie is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It’s not really Christmas until I’ve seen it.

White Christmas for sure! With It’s a Wonderful Life as a close second!
Three way tie: A Christmas Carol (w/Alastair Sim), White Christmas and Elf. You probably can string about 7-10 feet of popcorn-cranberry garland watching them back-to-back (which I may just end up doing)!
