Canada vs China Basketball at Rogers Arena
byOn August 10th the Canadian national basketball team with take on team China at Rogers Arena.
The men’s and women’s basketball teams have engaged in international play in preparation for the FIBA World Championships later this summer. The women just finished a tour in BC versus Chile and Sweden. The men will take on team France August 12th and 13th in Toronto and this will be their first time playing at the newly renamed Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
I just so happen to have a pair of court-side tickets to give away to the mens’ game against China Tuesday August 10th. Here’s how to enter to win:
Regular game tickets start at $19.75 (plus service charges). I will draw a contest winner Thursday August 5th at 9:00am.
Update The winner is Dave – have fun at the game!

I wonder if Yao Ming will be playing?
I’m still bummed that Vancouver doesn’t have NBA basketball team. Even though the Grizzlies sucked, I enjoy watching basketball games. Thanks for having this contest!
Canada vs China would be a great matchup. Seeing as I was born in canada and I’m chinese. I wonder if levon kendall is playing
nice to see some basketball returning to Vancouver
Eww GM Place is called Rogers Arena now?
This is gonna be interesting to watch with so many Chinese-Canadians in the audience. Thank you for the contest.
It’s funny to see “Rogers Arena”
The very first and last basketball game I went to was Lakers vs. Raptors when Kobe scored those dreadful 81 points. I would love to go see another basketball game.
I’m from HK so I’d love to go and support China!
Great match up to see.
With all of the injuries to the other teams main stars, team canada may be able to sneak up the rankings & steal a few wins. Can’t wait for the world championships!
Hope the game won’t disappoint.
I’d love to see the match!
years ago went to see van grizzlies vs seattle sonics. cheered for the sonics.
I would love to go see the game with my brother, who’s an NBA fanatic 😛
This should an awesome game… live in person =D
I like basketball.
This level of basketball in Vancouver is always just fantastic for the kids and the game. Enjoy it hoop fans!
Yi! Levon! It’s canada vs. china at the rogers centre august tenth!
Yes please. I refuse to go to any of the sympathy NBA pre-season games after the Grizz left for little to no reason so I’d love to go to this.
Wow! This looks like an interesting game! Wouldn’t mind checking this out. Tweeted as well.
My basketball comment. . .
wish Yao Ming and Hair Canada were playing. Should still be a good game to watch.
it’s great to see that basketball canada is bringing our men’s national team to town for a game. fingers crossed, though, that they sell enough tickets to make a good atmosphere at rogers arena!
basketball…umm its a fun game to play. id like to see yao ming in person though, he was a good player for the houston rockets
I like basketball! And it would be great to see our National team play in Vancouver.
Basketball has been my “stress-reliever” ever since I first picked up the basketball in grade 4. It’s awesome to see that Canada continues to have a strong basketball program. BBALL 4 LIFE.
Would be awesome to see this!
I miss watching basketball games at the old GM Place.
We have a few promising Canadian high school players in the states expected to make it to the NBA, one projected a lottery pick in Cory Joseph. If they develop in the NBA and commits to Team Canada, which they have at the Junior level, hopefully we’ll improve in terms of international competition. right now, we’re still not even close…
I would love these tickets.. maybe i should RT also just in case.
Tell you friends and get the word out. Let’s show some national pride and cheer on our Canadian boys. They can use our support. Remember to bring your Canadian flags. Canadian basketball rocks!
Yao Ming will definitely not be playing, he might never play competitive basketball again because of a foot injury. It will be so awesome having the national team in Vancouver, hopefully we see some Olympic spirit at Rogers Arena that night. I have a feeling we will.
come on come onnnn pick me!!!
grizzlies come back!
Never been to a live Basketball game, so very interested in seeing a live match!
I have never been to a live basketball game but would love for my first game to be a China-Canada match, especially being Chinese-Canadian!
I love basketball! 🙂
I haven’t been to a basketball game since the Grizzlies were in town!
Great match up for me, growing up playing basketball in Beijing, China.
And it would be a great opportunity to watch Team China in their post-Yao Ming era vs. the upcoming talented and athletic Team Canada.
Growing up in the neighbourhood of the Olympic basketball arena in Beijing and missed the Olympic basketball games in 2008, now it is a great time to catch up all the actions here in Vancouver.
I used to play basketball.
I love international basketball I hope Canada can show the world that we can compete with the best this year!
I remember when Vancouver had the Grizzlies .. they didn’t play great but at least it was fun watching basketball
It’s great to see basketball in Vancouver… doesn’t happen enough!
Yao probably won’t play…
Would love to win these tickets for me and my hubby ! He is a b-ball fanatic 🙂
Triple double trouble is coming to your town and going to make rubble.
I was lucky enough to watch Steve Nash’s last international game when China played Canada at GM Place. Nash put on a tremendous show and Yao Ming was a rookie entering the NBA. What surprised me most was the tremendous support for Team China. Chants and cheers were dominating the crowd and I felt we (as Canadians) were playing an away game – great experience!
It will be a great match up!
China has been practicing since june so they have had lots of time to prepare. They have played exhibtions and tournments against top teams like lituanian, argrentina, austrialia and slovenia. They did well against those team. I think they should be able to win against canada. Yi jianlian has been a beast
I heard Yi Jianlian was at the River Rock last night.
Yeah he was!!! 🙂 My friend saw him there 🙂
Which team is the winner?
Nash put on a tremendous show and Yao Ming was a rookie entering the NBA. What surprised me most was the tremendous support for Team China.
